    How many people ...

Would read a martial arts-based fantasy story? Would you read it if it was available freely on the web?

Behold, I see my father and mother.
I see all my dead relatives seated.
I see my master seated in Paradise and Paradise is beautiful and green; with him are men and boy servants.
He calls me. Take me to him.

I would, if it could hold my interest. When I was younger, I used to read alof of DBZ and other anime fan fics online. Wrote several of my own as well.

I would if it was of a more serious tone.

I read this scifi martial arts book once that was pretty tight. It was called "The Faded Sun" trilogy. Not too much action but enough to keep you interested. It was interesting how martial arts made a scifi book even better. Of course the MA was from some antient alien race who's life revolved around mercinary servitude to their masters that were unmatched in melee combat throughout the universe. So kind of like shaolin but only more spacey, and bladed.

have read a few that are out there now, Steven Barnes being the most notable.
David Gemmel also has some great fight scenes in his books.

    voted 'yes, as a book'

I've tried to read stuff online but something bothers me about doing that. I like a book.

    Go for it!
"George never did wake up. And, even all that talking didn't make death any easier...at least not for us. Maybe, in the end, all you can really hope for is that your last thought is a nice one...even if it's just about the taste of a nice cold beer."

"If you find the right balance between desperation and fear you can make people believe anything"

"Is enlightenment even possible? Or, did I drive by it like a missed exit?"

    It's simpler than you think.

    I could be completely wrong"

Abolutely! Though some of it was realy out-there...

I sometimes read on-line stuff, but I also prefer a book. The last bit of MA fanisy I read was in Black Belt.

Before that was actually a Tao-based book, but had alot of MA in it,too. Boy howdy, it should have been billed as a romance novle, it had so much light por n.
But it was't too bad minus that part...

A freind of mine turned me onto a famous chinese saga "the water margin" or "outlaws of the marsh" it 3-4 volumes and a couple thousand pages. Its follows hundreds of characters, it is all about martial arts, and its full of blood.

Interesting, many seem to regard past and some present stories of experiences as fantasy

The reason I ask is because I had an idea about writing a work of fiction loosely based on my Sigung's life story. I decided that a fantasy format would suit best and wanted to gauge what people's attitudes are to something like that, and whether it is worth putting something on the net.
