So I read this article posted here about a fellow mantis practitioner and think to myself.... "mark, how should a master of a style represent himself"? It's funny that this article mentions a man that is actually worthy of the title "master"... Master hu is a man of action, putting himself and his art out there for ALL to see. Giving a great example of positive mantis practices, actually showing what he has to offer... and his stuff is amazing to boot!!!! Jake should be commended for getting the word out about this gem of the mantis world, not talked about negatively on a garbage web site.
On one hand you have a "man" who claims to be a master, wearing studded belts and wrist bands. Running around all greased up with no shirts on looking like he just came from a gay porn shoot talking smack about everyone in town. But never actually showing his skills in any way shape or form...... Hmmm doesn't sound like what I would think a true representative of a style holding the title of "master" and "true successor" yielding the complete system should act like to me.
On the other hand you have a humble man who gives everyone interested in learning a positive example of mantis boxing a chance to learn and see what he has to offer. Among other things, but really that is all that needs to be said. Because actions speak louder than words in my book. Master hu is and so far "mr" pel isn't.
In fact wasn't it common for masters back in the day to represent their style by spreading out and opening schools elsewhere... Accepting challenges to show case their skills? I don't seem to recall any stories of LGY sitting down writing out articles about fellow mantis practitioners being petty, fake, garbage, money grubbing, etc and hiding away in his school never showing what he had to offer... No he accepted challenges, chose to fight and spread his talents. But for some reason the self acclaimed "successor" of the LGY lineage feels it is better to sit back and try to stir things up by posting childish stories on a web site. ;
So sit back relax, have a brew "mr" pel.... Stir your little pot and think to yourself that you are the man. Send your emails, get your students who have less than two years training and aren't "allowed" to touch hands until after they have two years under their belts send emails, giving their insight to what in their minute knowledge is of mantis value, write your articles full of negative garbage, never once show your skills in mantis boxing.... I'm beginning to wonder if there is anything to show... The balls in your court, I hope you received my greetings from your fellow shanghai teacher....
