    I can't believe none of you are aware that you use The Force to power up the lightsaber.

    (I am actually enough of a **** to HAVE a lightsaber... and yes, I have done sword forms with it!)

    Bullsh1t. It's powered by the same Diatium battery used in blasters. The focusing crystal creates the saber effect.




    The Force is used to control the weapon during combat, because it is essentially weightless and therefore very dangerous to wield.

    If the Force was used to power the blade, Solo couldn't have ignited Luke's to cut open the Taun Taun.
