    US Sanshou Team trials...

    http://www.usawkf.org/news/2005/6-13-05.htm

Is it just me, or does posting this a month and ten or so days before the actual competition seem a little quick?

Not that I'm competing, but still. Is anyone going? Anyone have any of their athletes going?

    Thumbs up

I would have entered if I am 20 years younger and not injured.

Have fun meeting friends from different countries.

Winning the friendships and being part of it worth more than anything else.

    Everyone is a winner.

Its a small group (or click)

But in reality its just bad management. Very unprofessional.

could you imagine the Golden Gloves doing such short notices?

But this info has been out there for a while just not in the mainstream where it might attract some people.

From what I have seen of who is going, almost all the active fighters that have a snowballs chance in hell at worlds are going to be there.

Worlds is not for the new or casual competitor.

I’ll let you know how it goes, I’ll be the ref for all the team trial fights.

    Men's team:
123 lbs. Andrew Valladarez (Cung Le)
    133 lbs. Duncan Duffin (Independant)
143 lbs. Jose Palacios (Cung Le)
154 lbs. Max Chen (Willian CC Chen)
176 lbs. Russ Middelton (EBM Oakland)
188 lbs. Brian Madigan (EBM Oakland)

    Women:
118 lbs. Van Do (Cung Le)
    123 lbs. Sarah Ponce (Houston)
143 lbs. Tiffany Chen (William CC Chen)
154 lbs. Elaina Maxwell (Cung Le)

Not as strong overall as 2003 but a good team.

Ross's team caught the injury bug and he only had one try out. His fighter lost to Sarah Ponce. He would of had the 165 lbs. fighter and maybe the 143 lbs male as well otherwise.

Not that I took and not really worth seeing. No clash of titans like years past.

I stuck around in CA (San Francisco actually) for a week after team trials so I wasn't around on the internet. I thought things went very well. It's a good team.

Sadly, both Ian Morgan and Josh Beauregard could not do team trials due to injury. Josh had surgery less than a month ago, but as Guru said, he would have been on the team no question. He is the best 165 SS fighter in the country right now, particularly in the international style

Ian Morgan would have had good matches with either Jose P or Jeff Chow, but he got hit by a drunk driver a few days before team trials

Ian will be ok, but it was bad luck and so he won't be able to be on this team
