I didn't get to see the masters demo because we were out till about 3am.

but it all went so well. there were 18 lion that opened the ceremony. lots of people and crazy stoopid, i hated that weather hot as hell. even satan would admit, texas is hotter than hell itself.

but i got to meet alot of great masters, hear some cool stories, and see some great san shou fights.

i thought it was a success, but who am i?

i went to this event last year just to watch. actually walked straight up
to gene like a total geek to say "HIgh". i don't think i actually remembered
to introduce myself. i really enjoyed the seminars, and the competition was
fun to watch.

this year i decided to attend some seminars as well as compete. of course
i recognized gene again. and once again marched up to him like a total d0rk
to tell him how great he is. this time i remembered my own name as well.

i did a pushing hands seminar with "master" al-walee muhammad. he's a
REALLY cool cat, and his ideas are literally out of this world. he is really deep,
and he has the ability to demonstrate and prove his ideas. wow.

i had planned to do another pushhands seminar with david chin and chris
heintzman, but was suckered into this daoist monk straightsword routine instead.
complete waste of time. as i danced around the gym, sword in hand, i watched
david and chris about 30 yards away schooling people in real combat skills and i
was green with envy. oh well. my bad. next time, right?

anybody down with shuai chiao? i tried this for the first time. feels a bit like a
mix between judo, greco, and taiji pushing hands. definitely going to do this
again.

i competed in stationary and moving pushhands as well. it was really fun, but
i was disappointed in the utter lack of taiji skill in both myself and opponents.

i made a "highlights" clip of some of my matches in shuaichiao and pushing hands.
all the clips of me getting thrown or pushed have been edited out to save mom
some agony. also, she thinks i'm superman, so this goes along way to proving it.

hope to see you all there next year. i really loved meeting all the martial
artists from different states and countries.
