    lapses in training

    Hi everybody.
I just returned to kung fu class after three weeks of having a sprained ankle and my legs feel like they where used as a punching bag. No sparring just kicks and stances. Any suggestions on how to help my body re-emersh(sp) into training. It's mostly in my hamstrings and quads. With some soreness in my chest from not doing pushups in a while. So this is the price I'm paying for playing video games for 2 weeks straight.
    Thank you

as a side note, when I did taichi this morning, the soreness didn't seem to bother me much.

Sk8fool, I just returned to kung fu after 20 years. I wouldn't worry about three weeks.

Don't over do it with your ankle or you'll be back to square one again. I think tendons take 5 - 6 weeks to heal properly - an even then, they're probably not as strong as they were before unless you've treated them properly.

my ankle's cool except I'm gonna stay away from inside crecent kicks a little. I'd say my ankle is at 90-95% healed. Mainly my hamstings are what are sore. Any remedies to help? Does Dit Da Jow work for that?

No. You're just sore because you've taken some time off. Give your body time to re-adapt and you'll be fine.

Best advice of all time. In addition to helping your ankle, depending on how you're feeling, you might want to walk an additional mile or two each day. This helped my ankle relax.
