Cool! At Qing Cheng Shan, if you take the left path and hike up to the top, it's an excellent workout. From the top, you can go down a ways and take the chairlift down, then the small ferry boat ride back to the mountain's base. The scenery is much better going down, IMO. If you can get around to Qing Cheng Hou Shan, do it. At the bottom of Qing Cheng Shan, going back to Dujiangyan is the Gong Fu school also. Anyways, no matter what have fun. In Chengdu, eat as much hotpot as you can and try to get to some of the temples to. Anyways, have fun, enjoy, and splurge.

It looks like a good itinary.

Beijing is where Ba Gua Zhang, Yang Tai Chi etc are initially popular.

actually being an ancient capital, there were many and many stories and places of CMA. Tong Bei Quan at cow street etc.

however, I heard that they are taking down a lot of historical sites and put in modern buildings instead. There are way too many people to live in the old capital. More public bathrooms before the Olympic games etc.

Xi An is the capital of Qin and Tang etc So you may visit another old capital. There was also a hot spring site outside of town where 2 general captured CKS sort of mutiny that shocked the world at the time.

Cheng Du is a good place to go, too.

    home of many Panda's.

People always have romantic thoughts or ideas about far off places.

Anyway, fair warning down to earth.

The more inland you travel, the less developed the city is.

so all the modern conveniances may not be there. phone, bus etc

Beijing is the capital of PRC. So it has modern hotels etc.

Xi An is less developed and Cheng Du is lesser etc etc.

I had a blast in Xian, but didn't stay as long as I would've liked to. I stayed at a hotel conncted to a convention center in the Southern Suburb, down the road from the Big Goose Pagoda (Small Goose maybe??) across the road from Zhao Chang jun's Wushu school. The hotel was a great place... totally off the chart in accomodations & ammenities. Had fun in "old town" at the night market & the mall right next to it.

Chengdu I just had a lay over there & didn't get to see much.

Regardless, everybody has given good advice. My advice is use common sense.
