    Obituary for Grand Master Pan

    Pan, Grand Master Qing Fu:
Passed away at home, on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Fondly remembered by his many students in Kitchener and worldwide. Grand Master Pan didn't just teach martial arts, he was martial arts.
A first-place competitor, instructor, choreographer, gang-buster, certified high judge, senior chief coach, professor, delegation leader, instructor of the Chinese police and special forces, media icon, and movie star. His students and friends consider themselves extremely lucky to have had Grand Master Pan in their lives.
Certain individuals make a difference in our world but GM Pan's influence will forever be a part of history. The knowledge and skill that existed in him will never be achieved again. He gave us so many unique memories. His authentic approach developed character in his students. He taught martial arts but also used martial arts to teach. Grand Master Pan valued his accomplishments but what he valued most in life was his relationships. Honest, open, genuine friendship that requires constant attention. That is what he gave and that is what he also expected in return.
Grand Master Pan's passing left a void in the lives of everyone that knew him. To his closest students he was a mentor, role model, father figure, and most importantly a friend. Having to continue without Grand Master Pan saddens us all but as we push forward, he will be there pulling us from inside. We can't thank you enough. The world will never have another Grand Master Pan.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Lutheran Church, 136 Margaret Avenue, Kitchener would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
