    5 animal suggested readings?

I was wondering if anyone has read either of these books -

The Spirit of the Five Animals -by Tak Wah Eng

Shaolin Five Animals -by Doc-Fai Wong
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/086...lance&n=283155

Are either of these worth getting? What is a good book about 5 animal kungfu? thanks

I've read Doc Fai's book which is centered on his Five Animal Form, but I can't tell you anything about the other book.

i have seen afew of the shaolin 5 animals books also, but they all seem to only be centered on the combination 5 animals and not the 5 animals themselfs. 5 elements but not the elements themselfs..

I have the Doc Fai Wong book. There really isn't much information in it.

Most of the book is a step by step instruction to the form.

See if you can find a Choy Lay Fut or Pak Mei school in your area. These are both excellent systems and they incorporate the five animals. If there are none, then visit the kung fu schools close to you and see if they include animal styles. If they do, then visit them and watch. If you like what you see, talk to students and instructors. My principal areas of martial arts studies have included 5 animal kung fu, kenpo, and jujitsu, and I have never regretted it. I didn't answer your question intentionally, and if you read between the lines, you will know why.

lol. So there arn't any good books about 5 animal? Hmm...

No there are no other animal schools near me. I know about all other schools in my area, but I found a good 5 animals teacher and he's the only one near me. I'm sure he can tell me all about it. I just wanted to get a book about it and kinda study it like college, read book and then listen to teacher lecture. You know what I mean? But I guess I'll have to go without one. Mainly I was looking for something that went over the complete form and some applications.
