People usually put things down that they cant do. please put up your akward robotic taji set and lets compare. to a world perfromer that has 15 year plus daily training.

Mind you I am simply juding the player on the vid and what I saw... not defending wushu at all. it is what it is.
Nor am I sticking up for it for the martial application, again it is what it is. However I dont think anyone on this board could perform it better. if so please put your vid up for us to judge.

    Talking

    good stuff
"For someone who's a Shaolin monk, your kung fu's really lousy!"
"What, you're dead? You die easy!"
"Hold on now. I said I would forget your doings, but I didn't promise to spare your life. Take his head."
“I don’t usually smoke this brand, but I’ll do it for you.”
"When all this is over, Tan Hai Chi, I will kick your head off and put it on my brother's grave!
"I regard hardships as part of my training. I don't need to relax."

Yes, the school or city Wushu team picks members when they are young.

They are trained since young till they compete when they are older.

Beautiful.... and I was noticing she seems to be pushing off the back leg and involving the hip and was wondering, wow, does she have taiji? So much so I could look past the acrobats.

And the taiji step, playing the front foot all the way out there and kind of dragging yourself in, which never seems to work when someone resists you, that even looked good because again, I noticed her back leg pushing.

BUT THEN SHE RUINED IT AT THE VERY END WITH HER SHAOLIN PUNCH. Horse stance, thrust the arm out with tension.... this is exactly what I'm talking about when it comes to taiji. They want to show power but when they do it's never close to external's power, never close to the boxer or karate guy. But then when they're soft they can't handle power.

So they're soft is too soft, or wrong kind of soft. And they're hard is no where near hard enough.

This woman moves so well. Hard to tell what she knows. Such command of her body, maybe she knows something. In the end, this is why I hate form. I can tell you what type of web site I can build, talk about the flashy intro and all of this.

Just build the **** thing and let people see. If you feel the need to varify your martial art, do it. Cross hands with someone. Form is one short step up from talking.

    Greetings....

SWEET!! Nice all the way round.. Sure, there are differences in my understandings and hers.. but, her Art is showcased magnificently.. and, it has all the appearances of of a usable system.. Wushu? Taiji? it really doesn't matter at that level, it appears she is beyond the trivialities of labels.. she blends many things into One.. Kudos to her and for the posted link..

    Be well..

What level is that? Are we going to place her at a "high level," based on her form?

There is high level of form, and then there is high level in martial arts. How would she handle a female Thai Boxer or San Da fighter of equal size? How would she fare with an experienced female MMA player? I've been ring side to some very brutal female kick boxing.

I'm sorry, but I need to see more than that before saying she's a "high level" martial artists. Othewise, Nadia Comaneci's the princess of Taiji. We should all bow before her.

i dont practice taji (yet, waiting another year) but she seems to be very fluid and in control of her body.

i do agree with ray though. she may move well and be very acrobatic, but how well can she fight?

she may be a great fighter, she may be lousy.

we all know there is only one way to tell.

    lets feed her to ray
