    Advertising rates in KFTC

    does anyone know how much a 1/4 page ad for a tournament costs in KungFu and TaiChi?

    There's a simple way to find out. Call them up and ask. That's what they're there for.

    Magazines make $ off of advertising, so they'll be very happy to help you.

    That's $ per issue? That's actually not bad. I wonder if the Internet has put some pressure on ad rates in traditional forms of advertising.

    It's been a long time since I worked in the publishing industry. I worked on a lot of college publications, and a communist journal (LOL), in addition to a lot of temping different places.

    The communist journal was a school job and pretty funny. I did get to meet Noam Chomsky out of it, though. I had no idea who he was before that.

    There's a funny story about that I probably shouldn't relate about his penchant for old cars.

    Well, we are selective....

    In all honesty, we make the bulk of our income promoting MartialArtsMart.com, so we don't run advertisements for our competitors. That severly limits our market for advertising, as you might imagine. So we keep our outside ad rates affordable. We've been discussing doing an increase for some time now. We haven't had one in several years, and we're due for one, however we'll probably maintain our old customers at the same rates.
