Thread: What’s’ the difference between…

    What’s’ the difference between…

I’m not trolling. My buddy teaching me some long fist…but doesn’t know a thing about Shaolin...

    So I’m posing the question,,,,,,
What’s’ the difference between Shaolin and long fist? Just style? ..(including application etc…)

Or Is there a certain element you can see within a Shaolin form that makes it different than Northern or southern long fist…i.e. way of movement or certain power generation etc…

Longfist is a classification that encompass certain Chinese styles. They don't have to be Shaolin. Cha Chuan is an example of non-Shaolin longfist. In terms of Southern Longfist...Bak Siu Lam is Northern but some lineages have a Southern accent. This thread has some good information on it's longfist classification. http://forum.kungfumagazine.com/foru...ad.php?t=42523
