The Shen is part of a system of cultivating the internal energies known as Chi Kung. They consist of twelve non-strenuous exercises – six standing and six seated – whose primary purpose is self-healing. In addition, they develop concentration, increase visual and auditory acuity, and enhance sensitivity to one's self and others. Anyone can learn this gentle and meditative practice which complements all disciplines. In addition, it is the key to learning the healing work.

Master Share K. Lew , at 88, is a Daoist priest with over 60 years experience in the traditional Daoist arts. He received part of his education at Huanglong Guan (Yellow Dragon Monastery) on the Luofo Mountains in Guangdong, China. During 13 years of study there, he trained in the full range of Daoist healing and martial arts. The lineage he belongs to – Daodan Pai (Daoist Elixir Style) – traces back over 1,300 years to L Dongbin of the Tang dynasty who became one of the Eight Immortals of Daoism. In 1970, Master Lew became one of the first people to openly teach authentic Daoist Neigong to non-Chinese.

Workshop will be limited to 35 participants. Attendance is first come, first served based on postmark date of registration. To reserve a space, please send a $125 deposit (or the full $250 fee) written to "Share K. Lew" by September 15, 2006. The remainder is due at the door. A sitting cushion, small blanket, and comfortable clothing are recommended. Send payments to:
