Protein pushups are for wusses. I prefer lipid pushups. If you are really feeling hardcore, try cholesterol pushups....

I like weights for the most part, but that did look like a great workout.

I'm not sure what the purpose of having the elastic band go to the side is. I guess that vid was creative but I wonder how much more effective than standard pushups variations those were.

There is a article explaining the rationale behind this type of training.
In short it teaches the arm to stabilize against blocks and other obsticles.
