Thumbs up Jet Li/Fearless/Chin Woo Issue

Gene, I just picked up a copy of this issue at the book store the other day and it's awesome. Congratulations on a great issue. Interview with Jet, History of Chin Woo, Black Tiger Steals the Heart, Tan Tui and more. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

By the way, I noticed your name on just about every freakin' article. When do you sleep?

    Great Issue

    Hey,

Just got a copy of the Sept. Oct. Chin Woo special.

It was an eye opener. I especially liked seeing the Tan Tui article. It would be nice to see the other 11 Chin Woo forms highlighted in the future.

    Thanks,

    Kurt

Thanks for the kind words, Kurt!

It would be nice to see all the good CMA forms highlighted in the future. Give us time. We've only been at this for a little over a decade. Chinese martial arts has a tradition that's millenia-old. It's going to take some time to cover all of it. But as long as the magazine is supported, we'll keep presenting the best of Chinese martial arts. Thanks for your support!

    another jet li movie

Great issue for advertising Jet Li's movie ,but no info on Mi tsung i.The 16 principles are not mentioned, the names of the major forms are not mentioned, the names of styles merged with mi tsung not mentioned, the animal mi tsung is based on not mentioned......
I would be very surpised if any real mi tsung is shown in the movie.

    There's some mizong influence...

...they're really quick moments however. You really got to know mizong to see them. But I'd say there's more mizong in FEARLESS than there was hung ga in OUATIC. In our FEARLESS issue, I addressed mizong in The Confusing Tracks of the Fist of Fury: Huo Yuan Jia's Style of Mizong Quan. Mizong is a very diverse and complicated style, as you'll see in my article. Not all mizong lineages engage the 16 principles and animal styles. There's quite a lot of variation since it's an old style.
