    Philadelphia Wing Chun

    Hello Everyone,

I hope no one minds if I put in a plug for my school in Philly. If anyone objects I will delete this thread.

Classes will resume at the Hawthorne Cultural Center at 12th and Carpenter Streets in Philadelphia, PA on Monday, January 8th at 7:00 pm. Classes will be essentially based on the method as taught by Sifu Chung Kwok Chow of NYC, however they will include influences from Leung Ting Wing Chun and Pekiti Tirsia Kali and Silat. Classes will be focused on functionality for real life encounters.

Anyone who wishes is welcome to drop by and say hello.
    Peace,

    Dave

There is no REAL secrets in Wing Chun, but because the forms are conceptual you have to know how to decipher the information..That's the secret..

    Hi SC69,

Thanks for the well wishes, I hope all works out.

I am glad you had a good experience with my Sifu. I have always had good experiences with Sifu Chow and know of nobody who can speak ill of him without over-reaching. One of the things which always impressed me was his openness and willingness to explore new things. When we first me I had several years of Wing Chun and Kali and he invited me to attack him in any manner I wished, did not care if it was grappling or something else. He has continued his exploration of Wing Chun by meeting and training with other Sifu and also exploring other arts and incorporating them into "his" approach to Wing Chun. Yet, I have rarely heard him speak badly of any other lineage or method.

I think you are in NJ but if you ever get to Philly look me up.
    Peace,

    Dave
