didn't go to bjj. the work load at grad school is pretty big, the judo club is 30 min away, classes are in the evening when I'm not a work and can do homework, so I probably won't be going that much this semester.

kind of sucks. oh well, i'll go when i can and try to stay really strong (weights gym is much closer)

    Panther Grappling

    Guard break class- 3 different

    knee in tailbone

extend leg back and shake (leg is streight)

Third controll the wrist (gi) and step leg to uke's hip on that side, turn in.

    drilled guard vs guard passer

Shark bait, I was first in the middle

Won 2 matches (on points), then lost the third to armbar.

Rolling, I gassed out on Phil. We stood for a long time

Rolled with BJJ guy (don't know his name), he submitted me. When we were standing I was pulling him around good, but I think to kazushi properly I need to pull up also.

You should contemplate adding front squats to the mix, the core strength they give will help you in judo.

Chins while gripping a towel, or better yet a GI, are great too.

I've done that also, great for grips. Right now I'm trying to build up strength. I don't have very much time to train judo or bjj due to grad school. I hope to be able to train once a week in judo. Getting in and out of the gym early in the morning (to lift) doesn't get in the way of school, work, or homework. Driving a half hour each way for a two hour class and rolling after class does get in the way

Its a work in progress, like everything else, take your time and don't rush it but remember the key to building strength is to progressvly overload the muscles, regardless of what system you choose, that must be the "goal".

    Panther Grappling, gi night

When uke turns in for hip throw, pull down on his lapel and step around
    from there: Uchi Mata

Chokes from kesa gatame w/ overhook

    Brabo
    &
    Darce

    Rolling

w/ ? - Did good position wise, he swept me once but I swept him back. Had a gift wrap at the end but got no submissions.

w/ John- did good stand up, he had an awesome open guard I just could not pass

w/ other john (no gi)- did alright on the stand up, gave up position and took it back. No submissions. Had a tight overhook on the standup and broke posture down.

While I didn't 'throw' anybody standing up, I also didn't get taken down and the matches went to the ground on my terms kinda?! I'm kinda happy about that.

Mike told me I was muscling a lot and needed to use more technique

Weighed myself today-175lbs, and I was actually the heavyweight of class tonight
