    Star Trek vs. Star Wars

Those that are the most sucessful are also the biggest failures. The difference between them and the rest of the failures is they keep getting up over and over again, until they finally succeed.

Pah, I find your lack of faith disturbing. Star Wars PWNZORS!

I'm quite partial to this one, btw.

    Fighting class

I would say that I probably prefer Star Trek over Star Wars.

The thing that I like about both is the combat aspects. Star Trek has some of the coolest warrior races that I remember. Obviously, there are the Klingons, bad*** as always. Then, the Jem'Hadar were cool. I like how they grow up quickly and are just bred to fight. The Cardassians have some potential.

Star Wars' light saber battles were cool. I was always intrigued about where Lucas drew his inspiration. I personally associated Jedi Knights with the Samurai class of feudal Japan but saw part of a documentary where Lucas used Shaolin kung as a basis for his light saber fights. Maybe I'm wrong.

Darth Maul had a cool light saber and his fight with Obi Won in Episode I is probably the only reason I bother watching.

I would actually say that there is a lot allusions between the Shaolin ideal, and the mythology of the Jedi

Before I realized this was a troll post, I was going to say:

What is an Akan? I've seen most of Voyager but haven't heard of that.

Star Trek beaming in again soon

We could use a fresh dose of Star Trek. I should collate all the star trek threads for the new Abrams flick.

Jedi Gym was a repeat. Star Wars seems so rehashed now.

As for the martial geeks over star trek geeks, we all remember the ultimate fusion of that, yes? Secret Fighting Arts of The Warrior Race Volume 1 - betleH yIqel
