    Bajiquan and mantis crosstraining?

it seems mantis and baji are very connected in the sense that i keep seeing baji and mantis cross training....in the baji school i checked out "pachi-tanglang" they start u off on mantis or tai chi and then u get into baji when the sifu deems u ready. is there any reason why this may be? it seems something like baji might be better suited for cross training with tai chi, no? any light someone could shed would be appreciated thanks

Who wouldn't? (crosstrain?) You should sign up for that school and put the yo back in yo/"u". On your first day, tell Mr. Su he's an old man and slow as molasses and he will teach you.

I think Baji and Mantis pair up pretty well.
Baji with its cannon like body power and Mantis with its lightning fast strikes.
What more can you ask for.
The Wutan group usually starts people off with longfist or mantis as a way to introduce beginners to kung fu movements.
Its a bit easier to learn and the potential for injury is not as great.

Baji and Taiji also pair up nicely. Hard and soft come together.
