    Other Information:This tournament is sanctioned by the Chinese & Foreign Jow Ga (Chau Ka) Martial Arts Federation LTD.



    ALL YOU CAN COMPETE A schedule of divisions is provided on the web for competitors to view, however there is no need to indicate which division’s competitors intend to compete in when registering. On the day of the tournament, a schedule of divisions & rings will be distributed and clearly posted in the Gymnasium that will indicate the location and order for each division. During registration & check in, competitors will be given competition wristbands that correspond with their level of experience. All competitor need to do is show up and check-in at the ring when their division begins.

    More info about the Joint Locking (Qinna/Kumna) Seminar

    Information about the Joint Locking Seminars

    If you plan to attend you must contact Derek Johnson Sifu.
    The seminar fees are as follows...
    $20 for the Friday session (1.5 hour)
    $40 for the Sunday session (3 hours)
    Both sessions $50

    Where: The Jow Ga Kung Fu Athletic Association

    When: Friday, June 15th from 7:00pm till 8:30pm
    Sunday, June 17th from 11am till 2pm

    The seminar will cover the fundamentals of joint locking/manipulation
    in practical self defense situations. The class will focus on common
    martial arts movements that can be used to create strong holds and
    controls to overcome resistance. The material will taught with a common
    sense approach to make the information easily usable for martial artists of
    any skill level. No prior experience is necessary.

    Hard Fist i apologize for some of the links on the main page not working. if you go to the main page top right and click "downloads", this will take you to links for rules etc. that are currently working.

    NEW DIVISION JUST ADDED:

    “5 TIGERS GOLD CUP CHAMPION”

    Advanced competitors only. Competitors signed up for this division must compete in ALL four categories against other competitors in their division.

    4 CATEGORIES:

    1. Empty hand forms (northern & southern combined)
    2. Long weapon
    3. Short Weapon
    4. Sparring (no weight division, all sizes)

    DIVISIONS:

    Gold cups will be awarded for each of the following Divisions:

    · Men’s Adult - 5 Tigers Gold Cup Champion 2007
    · Male Teen (13 to 17) - 5 Tigers Gold Cup Champion 2007
    · Women Adult - 5 Tigers Gold Cup Champion 2007
    · Female Teen (13 to 17) - 5 Tigers Gold Cup Champion 2007

    Competitors will only compete against others in their division.

    SCORING: In each category, points will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. The gold cup will be awarded to the competitor with the most combined points in his or her division. Medals will be awarded to division 2nd & 3rd places. Medals will not be awarded for individual categories.

    SPARRING: Rules for other sparring divisions will apply. No weight categories. A “5 Tigers Gold Cup” competitor will be required to test their sparring skills against any competitor regardless of size.

    i wish i could go but i have a closer tournament to my house i am going to. sorry man. looks like fun.

    NO offense intended, but why don't TCMA events do full contact anymore? NACMAF had lei tai/sanshou/san da.....

    I'd like to hang out with some of the old TCMA crowd, but since all we do is fighitng now, no point if there is't competition....

    You could rent a boxing ring, and probably also add INCOME to your event

    next october you should have some guys go here:

    They have amature and 'superfights'. I lost my first sanshou fight there last year but will win my second sanshou fight there in october.


    Some people traveled there from NY, but not NYC.
