Looking for a Catalog of body weight exercises.

Does anyone know if there is a good manual covering all sorts of body wieght exercises?

I am looking for a catalog that has tons of minimal equipment stuff that would use nothing more than a pullup bar for equipment.

I really don't want something that has all sorts of modern "Exercise Ball", or Resistance bands exercises (I hate those things), just a catalog of body weight exercises a caveman could do anywhere, any time, with a pull up bar being the only needed equipment.

I am also looking for a catalog of good medicine ball exercises, and classic strong man exercises as well.

Can anyone help out with some good sugjestions?
Those that are the most sucessful are also the biggest failures. The difference between them and the rest of the failures is they keep getting up over and over again, until they finally succeed.

LOL, I don't know why a pull-up bar is any less caveman than an exercise ball!

I don't know any caves with pull-up bars... yet if you've got a big rock, imagine the exercise ball work-out you could do!

I'd like somewhere to put a pull-up bar, but mate, embrace the ball! You know you wanna!

Exrx has some bodyweight stuff as well as the weights stuff I think. trainforstrength (Fish) has a lot of good explanations... but as for a comprehensive catalogue, no, I don't know any.

Cavemen had plenty of tree limbs, but no plastic, rubber inflatable balls.

My favorite workout spot is in the woods by my house. I took some hanging vines, and a fallen tree limb and tied it between to other trees that were close together with the vines. Now I have a pullup bar that holds my wieght no problem....sux in the winter though.

Dude, our species is 200,000 years old, I doubt it took us till the last tick on the clock to figure out how to train.

Also, Rocks are good, but not the way you'd use a rubber ball...too hard. Better to lift them, throw them and other things to develop functional strength.

Look up some of those old time strong man training books. Crap, I used to have a link for them. They have some crazy bw exercises. Here, I'll give you a short list of ones that don't suck (ie. are hard):

    Regular Pushups
I think you can figure these out

    Diamond Pushups
aka "triceps pushups" with your hands close together. They touch your xyphoid process at the bottom of the movement

    Alternating pushups
Assume a normal pushups position. Leaving your hands in place, move your body over your right arm. Go down and up. This puts more stress on your right side. Now move your body over your left arm. Go down and up. This puts more stress on your left side. Alternate like these each rep. When it starts getting hard, only do the eccentric portion (going down) while leaning over each hand, and when you're going up do it centered. This will let you get a few extra reps.

    One handed pushups
The normal way with one arm under your chest and your feet spread. Non working hand goes on your thigh or behind your back if you're a stud

    Sideways one handed pushups
These are harder to describe. You support yourself on one arm with your chest/stomach facing the wall and your back is facing the other wall (so you're rotated up 90 degrees from "regular" pushups position). Keep your body straight. Lower yourself by bending your elbow. Go as low as you can because you have insanely bad leverage on these and you probably won't get all the way down. I should just do an MSPaint illustration of this because I can't describe it.

    Handstand pushups
    Good fo yo delts.

    Hindu Squats
    I'm sure you know these.

    Jumping Hindu Squats
More explosiveness = more fun (and more DOMS)

    One Legged Squats (pistols)
    No explanation needed.

    Pullups
    Yup.

    Alternating Pullups
Apply the same concept from "Alternating Pushups" to your pullups.

    One armed pullups
Pretty tough without a pullups bar.

    Crunches
    Good for teh abz.

    Horse Stance
If you're a kung fu nut. Develops mad rooting, yo.

Ok, without the aid of a pullup bar, it's hard to work your lats/biceps without weights. It's also hard to work your calves without weights, and your hamstrings, too.

I am trying to keep it simple, Pull up bar or maybe some sort of home made weight at most.

The stuff you listed is good. Any chance you can find those links?

Looks like I have been looking in the wrong places.

This time, I Googled "Old Time Strong men"

    And found this-----> http://www.oldtimestrongman.com/mattfurey.html

This is what I have been looking for!

I also found 2 new ones on US Navy Seals training. I already have most of the DVD's on the first one.

This is a good one from rosstraining.com too!

And something I was not really looking for, but I think would be really important for me considering I have an old injury to care for.
