And the Choi Lee Fut was where?

No disrespect, but it didn't look like CLF to me.

The lesson is, it takes more energy to kick than it does to punch.

he does a little gwa and a sau at a moment. And where do you see people with less energy because they were kicking? I just see one with more skill then the other, good fight thou

Now one fight I would love to see is the "1957 Far East Asia Full Contact Championships" with master Lai Hung taking on Thailand champions as told on the Pantherfist site. You haven't got any clips from those fight by any chance sifufrank?

nah, vilmore, unfortunately i don't have access to that one.

however, i will try to find it. and when i do, i will post it.

the only thing i didn't like about the clf guy was that he kept walking right into the thai boxers front kick. but other than that, he couldn't handle the clf guy.

    eddie,

i was thinking the same thing but didn't want to push it.

but i wonder if people (outside of CLF) really think clf people get down into a traditional horse stance and guard and such. it makes me wonder how outsiders ARE expecting CLF to look.

i hope someone can answer that

I would expect it to look like choy le fut!
CLF train all that stuff and this guy looks like he is just boxing. I don't notice any footwork, a couple haymakers, but no really crazy swinging back and forth arm strikes. Nor did I see any forearm strikes but I could be missing something in the clip.

I sat back quietly waiting for exactly a quote like this

To Frank, this is a great example of CLF beating Muay Thai

To another person it's "just" either "kickboxing" or "boxing"

As long as TCMA people think that Chinese martial arts in application will look like a Shaw Brother's movie, the art will continue to stagnate.... and degenerate
