    Dallas TX Praying Mantis Schools

    Hi Everyone,

I used to practice PM way back in the day and was looking to get back into it. Currently I'm in Northern Shaolin, but am going to have to quit do to my creaky knees! Anyone have any good recommendations for any praying mantis schools in the Dallas area?

    Thanks in advance!

Creaky knees are still going to be a problem in Praying Mantis. Low Stances and moving and changing directions quickly. But, Check out all the schools. Been with AuthenticKungfu for seven years, one of the best decisions in my life. Good Luck! Hope you find something to keep your interest in Martial Arts.

Whats up my friend? How have you been? You and John will need to come up to Seattle sometime to visit and play.

low stances in mantis? all the stances i ever see performed from videos posted on this board are high and not really there. the people are good, i just dont ever see emphasis on the stances unless its 7*.

i have to watch the wushu mantis to get low stance.

You have not seen much Mantis then. Meihua, Qi Xing both get low depending on the school.

The Wah Lum group pride themselves with very low stances. Probably from the southern influence.

You sound like me. Started back after 12yrs of not being in MA. Got into Long Fist and a month late got patellar tendonitis. Make its hard for stance training and all the jump kicks.

Out of curiousity, are you at the N Shaolin School in Farmers Branch, Richardson or the one in Plano?
Master of Shaolin I-Ching Bu Ti, GunGoPow and I Hung Wei Lo styles.

I am seeking sparring partner. Any level. Looking for blondes or redhead. 5'2" to 5'9". Between 115-135 weight class. Females between 17-30 only need apply. Will extensively work on grappling.
