    concept of life/dead gate

hello to all southern boxers :-)

i would like to ask if you have heard about the combat concept of life/dead gate (door), or life/dead road, sang sei mun/sang sei lou, in Mandarin sheng si men/sheng si lu

Chinese characters are 生死門, respectively 生死路

    thank you

Hmm we use a lot of dutch, but we do have the life and dead sides. A dead side is being outside the arm that attacked you, so that the other arm is opposite the body of your enemy and cant attack you. It gives you more time and options to counter then if you would end up on the living side.

Goal is always try to position yourself to that dead side. If not, could make it dead side when you ended up on the living side, which can be done several different ways depending on your chosen technique.

What does it mean to you PM?
