So the "gogoplata" is what you MMA types call a Kagato Jime?

    Interesting.

No matter what, that scissor choke looked gay, I hate to say it.

Mike Brown looks like Mark Bocek...

LOL, I'm going to reinvent and rename that expression as 'stealing'! +1 for TMA?

BTW, didn't Carlos Newton's 'Bulldog Choke' at 4 mins look suspiciously like a 'headlock'? But that couldn't be, cos the MMA pundits on here are always telling us that headlocks can't work in MMA and are easy to get out of...

    Just busting your balls guys...!

Great clips, there seems to be a lot to be said for just sinking your weight in and locking down on anything really...

Have to say, no idea at all wtf was going in on a couple of those though... the Cobra Choke? What the hell happened there?

The Cobra hold is basically a side neck/spine lock. Possibly the least efficient finishing hold I've seen in MMA since Mark Coleman's Side Headlock of Doom, but it is sweet looking.

Oh, ok, like he his twister, which is a rename of a wrestlers move.

That's ok, I mean in BJJ the RND is called a "mata leao" ( Lion killer) so renaming stuff is a grand old tradition.

Sure the names are not as exotic or fearsome like the TCMA names such as :
    Floating Rooster enters Wet Gully
Crapping Bear wipes butt with rabbit
    Chimp picks his nose

So cutting edge BJJ is in fact old school Judo What next? Chuck Liddell to develop his revolutionary "Santa Barbara Hustle", where the fighter pushes and pulls against his opponent's arms and body to create openings for striking and clinching?

Did you mean RNC (choke)? If so, it's interesting to note that allegedly Herkales (Hercules) killed a lion with a rear naked choke.

    1. at this point, nothing is new anymore. however, a person who trains only bjj and has never done judo, for example, would not know the technique existed. or, they may know, but changed the name for the venue. "winding snake embraces the yak" simply is not a bjj style name.

    2. I forgot what my point was!

My lady and I call that the Sixty-niner-double-diner. The infamous North-South position proves how ****erotic MMA is.
