Also, I saw you like Ninja Scroll (a classic) here are some others to consider that are in a similar vein-

As much as I hate Fist of the North Star, it's prequel, Fist of the Blue Sky is actually pretty good, and doesn't require you to be familiar with Fist of the North Star's plot. The animation quality is cleaner, and the fight scenes are more entertaining than it's predecessor.

Berserk is pretty intense, and if you don't mind a lot of gore with your stoic-giant-sword-wielding hero stores, you'll probably like it. A very "Heavy" series. (Ignore the opening credits though)

Both of those are very serious, with some stylish fight scenes.

The street fighter anime movies aren't too bad either. If you can find Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie in japanese, you've got some good stuff. The fatal fury movie I saw wasn't too bad either. I've never seen the SF:Alpha anime, but I've been told to steer clear of them (which sucks because Alpha2 Gold was one of the best SF games)

While it's not exactly MA oriented, I've gotta recommend the Gantz series. Explaining the plot is nearly pointless, but it's bloody, full of rage, fighting, and a **** slick art style.
    Many roads. One path.

    Many styles. One art.

    Many lineages. One practioner.

I second Hajime No Ippo. It's now my favorite.

I also like the ones that are now more mainstream like Naruto, Bleach, Yu-Yu Hakusho, and Inuyasha.

A gimmicky one that plays alot on MA stereotypes, but is still entertaining (at least to me) is Grappler Baki, if for nothing else, for Yujiro "The King".

I've only seen a few episodes, but Basilisk seems really good. More like the Ninja Scroll feel that some are looking for.

Edit: Afro Samurai was good too.
