    A Deadly Choice

Hello everyone, I got treated v rudely on the Southern Forum, so I'll introduce myself here. I've recently decided to take up martial arts with the intention of fighting.

I've decided as of today I have two options -

    1. NINJUTSU - I'd like to learn how to throw shuriken and also "Shinobi-iri" which is stealth methods etc. I think these two abilities combined with hand-to-hand fighting would make me really hard.

    2. SHAOLIN - I'd like to learn lots of weapons and also to have really powerful arms etc. I've always wanted to learn the animals so if I'm fighting and say TIGER doesn't work, I can get up and use SNAKE and beat up the bad guys.

    ---

Considering I'm 47, and not married or anything like that I am really devoted, and will put in 100% effort - I'll do anything my Sensei tells me if it will make me stronger etc. So what advice do you have? Which option should I choose?

    Flips

    Fighting_Lad,

Flips, Cartwheels and such things we see only in movies. I teach the local police here in Cleveland and they jump fences and climb garages... etc etc. No back flips, However, athletisizm and cardio vascular training is neccessary for running and chasing or fleeing gang members.

Oh... and one other thing. If you intend on fighting (defending yourself), Fight smart ! You will never win against 5 or more so pick your fights carefully. One on one fights (if at all possible) is the only if you want to send them a message. You are treading on very dangerous ground here. Defending your self against an attack is WAY different then trying clean up a neighborhood. You may not like guns, but it might be the safest way because gangs and street thugs nowadays carry heavy duty stuff.
Try becoming a police officer... maybe join a gang task force? That would atleast give you the opportunity to shoot some bad guys?

I suggest you get a life and stop creating new accounts here.

bodhitree, who are you? Why are you so rude? And why do you spend your life on this forum? Why do you think I have "multiple identities" like some sort of bipolar schizophrenic? I think I will click the ignore button on you.

Ralek is the last person I have seen on ANY forum to use a line like that!!

    Ralek, welcome back!!!
Those that are the most sucessful are also the biggest failures. The difference between them and the rest of the failures is they keep getting up over and over again, until they finally succeed.

I had always hoped that was Ralek doing a new bit.

It really is pathetic that a simple question and call out for advice on martial arts can't be answered on what is entitled a "Kung Fu Forum"! Can anyone suggest any other Kung Fu Forums where people actually give constructive replies and hopefully bodhitree isn't signed up for (though the latter is unlikely).

Those **** southerners are still ****ed off about losing the war, if you know what I mean. No manners, they. So you've decided to take up martial arts with the intention of fighting? Good choice. I prefer fighting with the intention of fighting, but hey, I'm old fashioned.

I've never heard about that method. Throwing shurikens and Shinobi-iri can make you hard? Viagra and Scialas are probably cheaper. Plus, I can't imagine you'd get many chicks as a ninja. So even if they make you hard, can you really do anything with it?

Really powerful arms. Do you think this might in any way be linked to the statement directly below this one?

Do you think this might in any way be linked to your desire to become a deadly ninja assassin? I'm not saying it is. I think ninjas are real cool, too. You should speak to Takeshi-san. The kicker is, you have to have a masters.

Well, either way, you're not getting screwed. See, ninjas are kind of ****y, and Shaolin is for the chaste. So if you look at it that way, you're completely screwed.

See? Because you're not screwed......and all....

There's always Aikido.......the deadlies martial art for hard ass mutha****ers.

See, I told you there was a third.
