    Min/Max?

    Hi all,

Been a while since i've posted, but I recently heard something. Someone described JKD as an art to use Minimum amount of hits w/ Maximum force. I was skeptical to hear this, as it would take more time than you have for intercepting to coil a heavy attack. How do you feel about this?

    force

I could agree with that definition. It doesn't matter if you hit your opponent 20 times if they were soft punches.

I don't have to wind up to get good power in a strike. By keeping my stance aligned I can simply twist my hips and that adds alot of power. You shouldn't have to "coil" or "wind up" for it. IMHO, of course. :)

    IT ALL DEPENDS

There are namy ways to creat power.
but whin to do them is the question.
I belive the goal should be to use the body as a hole to make and dilver power.
for if you TRY to maake power before you have control you will be telergraaphic and easly stoped or blocked.
but after control has been astablished it realy dos not matter as much where or how you make YOUR power. JUST take him out!

REMEMBER speed in its self is a type of power.BUT power is not a type of speed.

    have a good day.

It all depends on the situation and the strategy. Maybe you want to deliver a quick blow to stun the enemy or knock them off balance for further attack.
