Despite being a skilled trained fighter, Mark Kemp, 50 has played the benefits system to claim tens of thousands of pounds by claiming he could barely walk.

Kemp claimed Disability living allowance over a 15-year period, despite being well enough to travel the UK teaching ancient forms of fighting such as Ju-Jitsu.

The black belt benefit cheat, who lives on Cunliffe Drive in Oldham, was exposed when investigators infiltrated his tutoring session where he was throwing punches and high kicks.

Assuming the guy's a Brit due to the mention of money etc, I would guess he's a little bit ignorant and a keeper of the dole mentality that is pervasive in the UK.
It has gotten really bad over there with many people just playing the system because they can. That's the price they pay over there.
You try to take care of people and they take advantage of you. It's an age old story.
Kung Fu is good for you.

    Kung-Fu TYPE kick

See? It doesn't have to be the realz Kung Fu at all.
Jailed for ‘kung-fu type’ kick on female garda
    Thursday, April 10, 2014
    By Liam Heylin

A man has been jailed for a kung-fu style kick on a garda which resulted in her requiring medical attention.

Keith Rock, aged 38, of 10 Woodside, Ballinora, Waterfall, Co Cork, pleaded guilty at Cork District Court to a charge of assault causing harm to Garda Hilary Daly.

Defence solicitor, Emmet Boyle, said Rock was deeply remorseful and apologetic for what he did on the night before New Year’s Eve.

Rock had been visiting a number of pubs at a Christmas party and had too many spirits to drink, Mr Boyle said on Rock’s behalf.

Judge Olann Kelleher said: “This is a very serious matter. Serious injuries were sustained by the guard. It is not acceptable to assault anyone in public. It is not acceptable to assault a female or indeed a male.

“This was a kung-fu type kick and she did sustain injuries. I have to take into account that was a ‘kung-fu type’ kick.

“It is a very serious matter. Gardaí have to do a difficult job.”

The judge jailed Rock for four months for the assault and two months concurrently for engaging in threatening behaviour.

Inspector Michael McGuire outlined the background to the incident, which occurred at Coolroe, Ballincollig, where the gardaí found Rock walking in the middle of the road.

“He was obstructive, aggressive and abusive and resisted arrest violently,” the inspector said.

Mr Boyle said Rock had fallen on a grassy verge at the side of the road and he lashed out in the manner described after gardaí assisted him to his feet.

The events were a blur to him, Rock’s solicitor said. He brought €1,000 to court for Garda Daly as a token of his remorse.

Pontypool teacher 'touched schoolgirls inappropriately' and 'practiced kung fu in class' - hearing

Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw in Pontypool Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw in Pontypool

A MATHS teacher touched schoolgirls in an inappropriate manner and practiced kung fu moves with boys in the classroom, a teaching council hearing was told this morning.

Paul Griffiths also invited a female pupil to go to the ballet and sent a Valentine's poem to another girl, the General Teaching Council for Wales conduct committee hearing was told.

The teacher at Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw in Pontypool once made an inappropriate comment after a schoolgirl bent down to pick up a pencil from the floor, GTCW presenting officer Lousha Bryl told the hearing.

He also gave a Christmas present to a female pupil and turned up at a shop where she worked, the conduct hearing was told.

Griffiths practiced kung fu, taekwondo and judo moves with the boys at the front of the classroom, Ms Bryl told the committee.

He also talked to female pupils in the corridor, leaving his class unattended for up to 45 minutes, the committee was told.

The conduct hearing was told the teacher was interested in martial arts and Chinese medicine and claimed he could help to cure ailments by touching parts of the body.

Ms Bryl said that he touched a girl's bottom at a school prom, checked if a girl's throat was swollen when she had a cold and touched other parts of pupils' bodies including their arms and back.

He also sent inappropriate emails to a pupil discussing his personal life including health issues and the breakdown of a relationship, the hearing was told.

Some of the messages ended with Lots of Love - LOL, Ms Bryl said.

The professional conduct committee hearing opened in Griffiths' absence in Cardiff today.

During disciplinary proceedings, the teacher did not deny sending emails to the pupil and said the purpose had been to make her feel better about herself and raise her spirits.

He also said martial arts moves were introduced to break up prolonged maths sessions in the classroom.

The GTCW alleges that Mr Griffiths exchanged inappropriate emails with pupil A between October 2001 and March 2003.

It is also alleged that he developed inappropriate relationships with several female pupils at the school.

It is alleged he had inappropriate physical contact with female pupils at the school.

It is further alleged that he engaged in inappropriate activities during lessons by allowing pupils to participate in martial arts.

The GTC also alleges that he left his class unattended for lengthy periods during teaching time whilst talking to female pupils.

The GTC alleges that these allegations constitute unacceptable professional conduct.

    Proceeding.

Joseph Louf of American Total Defense BUSTED!

Here's one right in Massachusetts from a couple months ago. A lot of us knew this guy was a fraud and thought he was a douche, but were shocked to find out that he was also a total psychopath. Joseph Louf, fraudulent martial artist and owner of the American Total Defense mixed martial arts gym in Beverly, MA was arrested this past February for beating up and disfiguring his girlfriend... and is being charged with attempted murder. People like this do such a disservice to the entire industry. Total fraud. He claimed to have been a kru under Master Toddy in NV and that turned out to be a complete lie, and American Top Team in FL (where he claimed to have gotten a black belt) said he never actually got past white belt there. One of our pro fighters crossed trained a bit cause Louf's gym was right in Salem where he lives, and quickly realized that Louf was a fraud when the guy totally sucked at sparring, lame stand-up and weak ground skills. But apparently tough enough to beat up his girlfriend... The guy will most likely (hopefully) be incarcerated for a long time and end up somebodies chew-toy in prison, but i wanted to share this to get the word out in case he somehow gets out so that people will never be fooled by him again.

Man held in 'disfiguring' attacks on Gloucester Girlfriend
    -Gloucester woman disfigured, police say-
    By Julie Manganis Staff Writer

SALEM — Her parents knew something was wrong when they would get responses to their text messages that didn’t sound like their daughter.

But for months, the 27-year-old Gloucester woman insisted that things were fine with her new boyfriend, with whom she was now living in Salem.

Then, last month, she returned home, with just the clothing on her back and disfiguring injuries that made her almost unrecognizable and in need of reconstructive surgery.

The man who did that to her, police say, is Joseph Louf, 37, of 171 North St., Salem, the owner of the American Total Defense mixed martial arts gym in Beverly.

Louf was arrested Friday and held in custody over the weekend. He was arraigned Monday in Salem District Court on charges that include attempted murder and aggravated assault and battery. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He will be back in court today for a hearing to determine whether he poses too great a danger to the woman or others if released. In the meantime, Judge Matthew Machera ordered that he remain in custody.

The charges stem from an investigation that started last fall, when the young woman’s parents went to police with their concerns.

They had learned from a relative about Louf’s “controlling and violent past,” prosecutor Lindsay Shaheen told the judge yesterday. They were also concerned about the lack of contact they had with their daughter.

A few months later, Salem police Detective Kathleen Rocheville got another call, telling her that the young woman had returned home about a week earlier, on Jan. 7. She had told them little — other than that she was “lucky to be alive.”

The young woman, once a nursing assistant at Beverly Hospital, was suffering from two detatched retinas.

Her face, Rocheville noted in her report, “has been completely transformed.”

She had “cauliflower” ears, a nose that had been broken multiple times, a small piece of her lip missing, broken teeth, and scars, bruises and bumps all over her body and under her hair.

The fingers on one hand were broken, and she needed help walking when Rocheville spoke to her on Jan. 14.

But she continued to insist that the injuries were the result of mixed martial arts fighting.

Then, late last month, she admitted that she’d never been in an MMA fight.

During a second interview with Rocheville, she detailed numerous beatings, strangulations, and incidents in which she was made to engage in strenuous acts for long periods.

The woman had met Louf on Match.com, a dating website, and the two had spoken on the phone for weeks, until she joined his gym in the spring of 2012.

Soon, she had moved to his apartment. His controlling behavior escalated, she told the officer. He controlled her phone and her social media pages, and would respond to messages for her.

By the winter, she told police, she was suffering daily beatings, including beatings while she was pregnant. One of the beatings left her with broken teeth.

When her co-workers at Beverly Hospital, where she worked as a nursing assistant, asked her about her injuries, she told them she was doing mixed martial arts fighting. She eventually lost that job. Later, she worked at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Beverly, where, she said, any money she made she was forced to turn over to Louf.

One customer there was so alarmed by her appearance that she gave the young woman a brochure for Healing Abuse, Working for Change (HAWC), a Salem program for victims of domestic abuse.

Her injuries also caught the attention of at least one parent whose child studied at Louf’s studio; when the young woman showed up with massive swelling in her legs following an incident in which Louf sat on her chest until she heard a crack, the parent pulled her child out of the class.

In December, she told Rocheville, she was beaten so severely that both of her eyes swelled shut.

During another beating, her cheek was split; Louf later punched her and caused all of the stitches to break, she said.

Louf allegedly stabbed her ears with scissors, and delivered “body shots” to her as she washed dishes, sending her into a cabinet. He allegedly also put her into chokeholds until she passed out.

And she told police that Louf had broken and then tried to “reset” her nose multiple times.

When she bled, she said, Louf would force her to clean up her blood and beat her again.

As Shaheen read details from the police report, onlookers in the courtroom who had no connection to the case could be heard gasping.

Louf will remain in custody at least through today’s hearing.

Do you consider a cat's eye kunckles as a "martial arts weapon"? It's not like anyone trains these in the martial arts. I remember getting one for my girlfriend in high school. She loved it.

    Who here owns a Tesla?

Why Is This Naked Man Doing Kung Fu In A Tesla Model S?

    Michael Ballaban

A man in a Tesla Model S decided that this scenic spot on the Pacific Coast Highway was a good place to get naked, stand up out of the sunroof, and work on his martial arts regimen. And that's about all we know.P

I kinda feel bad for the paramedics, who seem to sway back and forth between desperation and exasperation, in any attempt to get the man back into this car and on his way (assuming it is his car). Maybe this is what happens when you run out of charge. Maybe this is what happens in a world where you can wear a Tesla as pants.P

If you know what happened to this poor fellow motorist, who he is, or what inspired his enlightened actions (Earth Day?), please send all tips and/or Naked Tesla Kung Fu advice to tips [at] jalopnik [dot] com.P

This is a very serious matter.P

UPDATE: A "Captain Scott" of Pacific Palisades Fire Station 69 told the local Palisadian-Post that the man in question had a "meltdown or psychiatric episode or was on a controlled substance." You don't say.

Naked Man on Top of Tesla Stops Traffic on PCH
    April 22, 2014 | By Post Staff
At approximately 3 p.m. today, a man driving a red Tesla Model S on PCH near Entrada Drive in front of Patrick’s Roadhouse crawled through his sunroof and then took off all his clothes on top of the car. The bizarre sight brought traffic to a standstill and caused massive delays. According to Capt. Scott of Pacific Palisades Fire Station 69, which responded to the scene, the man had a possible “meltdown or psychiatric episode or was on a controlled substance.” The man was taken to a local hospital and by 3:30 p.m. the incident was over. Traffic continued to remain snarled for hours afterward.

Miss. ricin letters suspect pleads not guilty
By Robbie ByrdPublished: Wednesday, June 5, 2013, 10:55 am

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi man has pleaded not guilty to sending ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama, a U.S. senator and a local judge.

The plea was made in a court filing Tuesday on behalf of James Everett Dutschke of Tupelo.

Dutschke is charged with sending the poison-tainted letters on April 8 to Obama, U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi and Lee County Justice Court Judge Sadie Holland.

Dutschke had been scheduled for arraignment Thursday in U.S. District Court in Oxford.

His lawyer, George Lucas, waived Dutschke’s right to appear and entered not guilty pleas to all five charges.

Lucas had no comment when contacted Wednesday.

Dutschke, a former martial arts instructor, was arrested April 27. He is being held without bond in the Lafayette County jail.

Mississippi martial arts instructor gets 25 years in ricin case

Man gets 25 years in ricin letters case
    MICHAEL MUSKAL,
    Matt Pearce
    May 19, 2014, 2:25 p.m.
A man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison on Monday for mailing ricin to President Obama and other officials in the latest turn through the legal maze involving a martial arts instructor, an Elvis impersonator and a plea deal that was again on after the defendant initially pleaded guilty and then changed his mind.

U.S. District Judge Sharion Ay**** in Aberdeen, Miss., sentenced James Everett Dutschke, 41, to 25 years in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release after the taekwondo instructor decided not to withdraw his guilty plea after all.

At his hearing last week, Dutschke withdrew that plea and launched into a 30-minute rant, lashing out at Paul Kevin Curtis, the Elvis impersonator who said he was framed by Dutschke in the ricin case.

Dutschke, when asked by the judge whether he would like to make another statement before sentencing, replied: "I think it would be best if I don't," and then laughed, according to the Daily Journal in Tupelo, Miss.

In April 2013, letters containing ricin were sent to Obama, Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Judge Sadie Holland of Lee County Justice Court in Tupelo. Ricin is a deadly toxin refined from the castor oil plant and its seeds, known as castor beans.

On April 17 last year, Curtis, the Elvis impersonator, was detained on suspicion of sending the letters. But officials cleared him after no ricin was found during a search of his home. Curtis, through his lawyer, maintained that he probably had been framed by Dutschke, with whom the impersonator was locked in an online feud.

Ten days later, Dutschke was arrested in connection with the ricin mailings and in January of this year pleaded guilty to one count of developing and possessing ricin, and three subsequent counts of mailing threatening letters laced with the substance.

Last Tuesday, the day he was scheduled to be sentenced, Dutschke said he wanted to withdraw his guilty plea and launched into his tirade, again accusing Curtis, whom he compared to Barney, the purple dinosaur and beloved children’s character. Dutschke offered to eat the contents of the letters to show that they weren't poisonous and blamed the government for conspiring against him.

The sentencing was delayed to allow Dutschke time to file the appropriate papers, but he never did. Withdrawing the guilty plea could have opened Dutschke to a possible life sentence as well as a longer sentence in a state court proceeding where he had pleaded guilty to fondling charges. The two cases had been linked in the January plea agreement.

Federal prosecutor Chad Lamar said the judge found the agreement appropriate.

"She found our agreement to be a fair sentence and one that represented the severity of the crime committed," Lamar said after the hearing.

Robber karate kicks man in Liverpool city centre before demanding 'do you want to get Kung fu'd?'

A robber launched a karate kick at a man in Liverpool city centre before demanding "do you want to get Kung fu'd?"

Jason Whybrow, 39, attacked Sean Brady as he was walking down Wood Street at 6.10pm on April 29 checking his iPhone.

Simon Duncan, prosecuting, told Liverpool Crown Court today how Mr Brady had been about to meet a friend when he noticed Whybrow and another man looking at him.

Whybrow, who had been drinking and smoking cannabis, grabbed the phone and a struggle followed as they fought over it.

Mr Duncan, said: "He swung his left hand towards him near his mouth, this is described as a punch but it's all one fluid motion, the grab and the swing. He said there was some contact with his mouth but there was no injury.

"The defendant said 'do you want to get jabbed? Do you want to get Kung fu'd?'"He carried out a karate-style kick designed to intimidate his victim but there was no contact."

Police were quickly on the scene and the victim was able to identify Whybrow's friend who said he had nothing to do with it and identified who they were looking for.

When he was arrested the next day Whybrow, of Balmoral Road, Fairfield, said it was him who acted alone and he sold the phone for £160 to buy cannabis.

Whybrow, who was on bail at the time, was said to have a lengthy record including offences of dishonesty, burglary and robbery.

He pleaded guilty to robbery but Brian Heckle, defending, said he had been institutionalised and had gone immediately into custody on each of the last 14 times he had been before a court.

Judge David Aubrey, QC, jailed him for a year, saying: "It may be that you find yourself feeling more secure in a custodial institution than otherwise.

"With respect you do paint rather a sad and forlorn figure. But that was not how you painted yourself to your victim on the day of your offence.

"He was simply walking down Wood Street. He was doing that which many person does on a public highway - using his mobile phone."

    Operation Grandmaster

    Felled by his own heart...

    http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/la...s-heart-attack
    By JEFF GERMAN
    LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
Ricky Anderson was supposed to plead guilty Friday in the massive scheme to take over Las Vegas-area homeowners associations.

But a heart attack he suffered roughly 10 days ago in federal custody prevented that from happening.

At the request of his lawyer, Travis Shetler, his plea was continued until June 6. Shetler told U.S. District Judge James Mahan that Anderson, 50, spent three days in the hospital.

A shackled Anderson, regarded as an “enforcer” for Leon Benzer, who is accused of being the mastermind of the HOA scheme, was in court Friday as Shetler disclosed his health problems. Shetler said Anderson needed more time to go over the plea agreement.

Charles La Bella, a deputy chief with the Justice Department’s Fraud Section in Washington, D.C., told Mahan that Anderson signed the agreement days before he suffered the heart attack.

Anderson’s claims of being a ranking kung fu grandmaster led the FBI to name the long-running investigation Operation Grandmaster.

Three other defendants in the high-profile case — Maria Limon and brothers Jose Luis Alvarez and Rudolfo Alvarez-Rodriguez — each pleaded guilty Thursday to one felony count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.

The trio and Anderson were indicted by a federal grand jury with Benzer and six others last year in the Justice Department’s final push to charge conspirators in the HOA fraud scheme. Anderson was imprisoned on a sexual assault conviction in Texas at the time of the indictment.

Prosecutors have alleged that 11 HOAs were defrauded of millions of dollars in the takeover scheme, which occurred between 2003 and 2009.

The investigation is thought to be the largest public corruption case federal authorities have brought in Southern Nevada. A total of 35 defendants have pleaded guilty.

This week’s plea deals follow a February plea agreement by co-defendant Barry Levinson, 47, a suspended attorney facing disbarment.

Benzer, 47, a former construction company boss, and five co-defendants are left to stand trial in October on conspiracy and fraud charges.

The defendants are accused of conspiring to pack HOA boards to gain legal and construction defect contracts. Straw buyers were recruited to purchase condominiums at developments and then get elected to the HOA boards through bribery and rigged elections.

The long-running investigation became public in September 2008, when FBI agents and Las Vegas police conducted raids across the valley.

Egypt martial arts instructor jailed over sex scandal

An Egyptian martial arts instructor embroiled in a sex scandal has been sentenced to two years prison with hard labor for promoting vice after having sexual intercourse with women at a health club in the country’s Nile Delta.

The court in El-Mahalla El-Kubra found Abdel Fattah al-Saidi guilty of promoting public disorder, sexual intercourse with a number of women at a rented gym, filming women in compromising situations without their knowledge as well publicizing the fact.

Saidi was reportedly a Karate instructor and his case was widely publicized in Egyptian media.

The court declared the sentence with immediate effect.

Earlier this week, Egypt passed a law criminalizing sexual harassment.

Sexual harassment just became illegal in Egypt last week? Hmm. Where is it still legal?
