    Shaolin fraud

Alchino is clearly posed next to some monk in this photo. Too bad that monk is cropped out as I'm idly curious who it might be.

Former Omagh martial arts teacher admits £15,000 fraud

A FORMER Omagh martial arts teacher has pleaded guilty to defrauding a woman out of £15,000.

Dannio Alchino (44), with an address now in Tildarg Avenue in Belfast, appeared at Dungannon Crown Court on Tuesday to be arraigned on three counts of fraud by false representation.

Formerly of Knockgreenan Drive, Omagh, Alchino previously ran a number of Shaolin Kung Fu classes in Omagh, Stewartstown and Dungannon.

He was originally charged in respect of the fraud offences in May 2011, however an arrest warrant was issued for Alchino in September 2011 after he failed to attend court.

The warrant was not executed until May this year, when Alchino was arrested in Belfast following information received by police.

When he appeared back in court, it was heard that the 44-year-old was working under a new identity ‘Marco Morello’ in a salon in Belfast which provided botox and fillers.

Standing in the dock of the Crown Court this week, Alchino entered a plea of guilty to one charge of fraud, but entered ‘not guilty’ pleas to the two remaining fraud charges.

The 44-year-old admitted dishonestly making a false representation that £15,000 belonging to a woman would be used for investment in the Japan Finance Company.

Defending barrister for Alchino, Ian Turkington, said part of the defendant’s previous bail conditions included the lodgement of a surety of £15,000.

He said the sum was lodgement in the event of his client either pleading guilty or being convicted.

He said in effect restitution was already there.

had to be put in a cage

    The caging is ironic, yes?

Martial arts expert smashed his brother-in-law's head into the floor

Lithuanian born Kestusis Lukosevicius launched unprovoked attack and was so drunk he could not remember incident

A martial arts expert who attacked his brother-in-law by smashing his head into the floor was spared jail.

Lithuanian born Kestusis Lukosevicius launched the unprovoked attack and was so drunk that afterwards he could not remember the incident, but accepted it was him.

Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, told him: “That night you behaved like a wild animal”.

Liverpool Crown Court heard that on July 5 last year the victim, Edris Nosrati went to visit his girlfriend, whose sister was the defendant’s girlfriend, at her home in Springwood Way, Rock Ferry .

He found that Lukosevicius and others were already there being very loud and drunk. About an hour and half later the defendant and Mr Nosrati were outside in the garden.

David Potter, prosecuting, said: “The defendant was boasting about his strength, his body and his expert knowledge of martial arts.”

He also told Mr Nosrati he liked his writ watch which had a touch screen and should give it him as a gift which he found intimidating.

Mr potter, said: “Without warning the defendant punched Mr Nosrati to the face with sufficient force that it knocked him to the floor. Mr Nosrati was face down and describes that the defendant grabbed his head with both hands and smashed it into the floor at least twice.

“He could hear his girlfriend’s father shouting ‘stop’ and as he tried to get to his feet the defendant struck him with an object across the right hand.”

He fled into the street bleeding heavily and neighbours called the police.

Lukosevicius, 29, was arrested but was extremely aggressive and had to be put in a cage because he was kicking and punching from within the police car.

Lukosevicius, of Old Chester Road, Rock Ferry, who has no previous convictions, pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, the Recorder of Liverpool, sentenced him to 16 months in jail suspended fot two years, ordered him to carry out 180 hours unpaid work, pay his victim £500 compensation and £500 towards the prosecution costs.

He also imposed a six month curfew with a tag between 6.30pm and 6.30am and placed him under supervision for six months.

He told Lukosevicius that if it means he cannot go on holiday with his partner and their baby or go out celebrating at Christmas “just spare a thought for Mr Nosrati because he is scarred permanently as result of violence towards him.”

Anna Duke, defending, said that the defendant, who is working and has a four month old baby, did not normally drink and felt ashamed.

161 years for Albert George Williams

    A garage-Karate teacher, with priors.
Martial Arts Instructor Who Molested Girls Gets 161 Years in Prison
A Murrieta jury last month convicted Albert George Williams on several molestation charges related to a trio of young girls he taught martial arts at his Lake Elsinore home.
Posted by Renee Schiavone (Editor) , July 07, 2014 at 10:59 PM

A martial arts instructor who molested three girls during private lessons at his Lake Elsinore home was sentenced Monday to 161 years in prison.

A Murrieta jury last month convicted 65-year-old Albert George Williams of nine counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 years old, two counts of digital penetration of a child under 10 and one count of witness intimidation. Jurors also found true sentence-enhancing allegations that Williams targeted multiple victims in a sex crime.

Riverside County Superior Court Judge Angel Bermudez imposed the sentence required by law.

Williams was arrested in early November 2012 after a 10-year-old girl told her mother that the assailant had groped her several times during a karate lesson in the garage attached to his home in the 15600 block of Laguna Avenue.

According to a trial brief filed by Deputy District Attorney Julie Baldwin, the child also told authorities that the defendant had inserted his fingers into her privates after getting her into his bedroom on the pretext of helping him with his computer.

Following Williams' arrest, deputies circulated a public notice about the case, asking any other alleged victims to come forward. Two girls did -- both alleging that Williams had molested them during one-on-one karate lessons, typically groping them while they were stretching or as he was having them demonstrate a particular move learned in class.

All the children lived in the defendant's neighborhood, Baldwin said. Due to their ages and the nature of the alleged crimes, all the victims were identified as Jane Does in the criminal complaint.

According to Baldwin, Williams used fear to keep the victims' from talking, suggesting that they would be beaten by gang members or worse.

One girl told detectives that "she was fearful of defendant because he would tell her and the other children stories about getting the letter 'S' carved into their faces for snitching," according to the brief.

Just before his arrest, Williams also tried to frighten the father of a child during a conversation in which the defendant said his son was a gang member who had just been released from prison after serving time for killing several people.

"(Williams) said that if anyone ever hurt him or any of his family members, his son would have his back," according to the brief.

Most of the sexual assaults occurred in 2011 and 2012, according to court papers.

Williams has a prior sex-related conviction in Los Angeles County, according to prosecutors.

    “martial arts therapy”

Agency pulls ad for school aides with martial arts training

A recruitment agency has pulled an ad for integration aides with “martial arts therapy” training after disability advocates raised concerns about the use of violence and restraint in schools.

The online ad was placed last week by recruitment companyanzuk, which said it was looking for “martial arts therapy aides” to work in special needs and primary schools in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

Children with Disability Australia executive officer Stephanie Gotlib said the ad reflected a system in crisis, where physical restraint was increasingly being used on disabled children to control their behaviour.

“If this was happening in a local primary school, with disability taken out of the equation, and a whole lot of martial arts therapy aides were employed, there would be community uproar.”

It comes as more than 11,300 people have signed a petition calling for the Napthine government to end the use of restraint - which includes physical restraint such as force and mechanical restraint such as straps - against disabled children in school.

Disability advocate Julie Phillips said integration aides usually did not require any qualifications and it was disturbing that schools were demanding they had martial arts therapy skills.

She said martial arts therapy training encouraged the use of restraint on children.

“The use of martial arts or violence against students with disabilities is a long-standing problem. The Department of Education seems to prefer the use of physical violence to address challenging behaviours rather than psychological interventions, despite the evidence of the success of such interventions.”

Croydon Community School has provided “martial arts therapy” training for the last 14 years for hundreds of Victorian aides who work with children with extreme behaviours.

Principal Bronwyn Harcourt said learning how to restrain children was only “a very small part of the program”.

She said the school was in the process of renaming the program because of the negative connotations associated with martial arts.

“Martial arts does not equal restraint. The program does not encourage restraint, it does exactly the opposite, it encourages building a relationship with the kid, it teaches them about their triggers and how to self regulate, and how to de-escalate situations.”

She said restraint was necessary in extreme situations where a child was putting themselves and others at risk.

“If you have a kid carrying a bat and hitting a teacher or kicking a teacher or another kid then they have to be stopped."

Shadow parliamentary secretary for education Colin Brooks said the Napthine government had ignored Office of the Public Advocate and Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission recommendations for independent oversight of the use of restraint and seclusion in schools.

“The recruitment of staff skilled in martial arts to work with children with disabilities highlights how badly this oversight is required. The Napthine government should be ashamed it is allowing this to occur to some of our most vulnerable children."

An Education Department spokesman said restraint was only ever used as a last resort when someone was in danger - “for instance, if a student is about to harm another student or a staff member by throwing a chair, a teacher may intervene and restrain the student to prevent them from causing injury.”

anzuk did not want to comment.

Ouch. That's some pretty rough press. I'm guessing the point of the program was actually to teach disabled kids martial arts...

29-stone martial arts expert facing eviction for attacking workmen who disturbed his pet snake

Huge Christopher Lee was under orders to behave after repeatedly abusing contractors, forcing one group to form a human chain to stop him attacking them

Facing eviction: Christopher Lee has had several run-ins with contractors at his home

A vast 29-stone 'martial arts expert' could be evicted for attacking workmen trying to upgrade his kitchen and bathroom because he claims it unsettles his pet SNAKE.

Huge Christopher Lee was under orders to behave after regularly abusing contractors, once lashing out because they dared to wear baseball caps next to his Buddha statue, which he deemed offensive.

Now, the 37-year-old has possibly thrown away his last chance by this time refusing entry to gas safety experts needing to check his meter at his Liverpool home.

On one occasion Lee ejected workers because they offended him by calling him “mate” and his partner “love”.

Workmen became so frightened they had to form a human chain to stop unemployed Lee attacking them.

Aggressive Lee, who is known for constantly interrupting previous civil court hearings in Liverpool with torrents of abuse and regular swearing episodes aimed at the bench, failed to attend an appearance on Thursday.

It was heard how, along with barring gas contractors, he has carried on abusing Liverpool Mutual Homes staff, who own his property.

The case was adjourned for a month while experts assess if he has any health problems. He has previously complained of having gout.

Last time at court, when told he could be arrested, the man mountain raged: “There’s no point sending hairy-***ed coppers round!” And he added: “You’re going to need the 22 Squadron!”

His girlfriend Nicola Coghlan has admitted: "His vocabulary can be quite raw at times”.

In February last year, the court instructed the trained fighter to pay costs of £4,805 – which he refused to cough up.

He was banned from being at home when workmen came to repair his property.

    Deputy Roberto Roena

Are there extra points for a TKD Deputy? There's a vid if you follow the link (although that vid went pretty viral already).

Deputy Suspended For Using Taekwondo Kicks On Inmate
    September 10, 2014 9:13 PM

DENVER (CBS4) – Another Denver deputy misbehaving has been caught on camera. The deputy has been suspended for using martial arts moves on an inmate.

The incident happened in the spring but the video wasn’t made public until Wednesday.

Deputy Roberto Roena is in the midst of a 90-day suspension, not only for his behavior on the video, but also for lying about it in a follow-up report.

The video shows Roena demonstrating his taekwondo kicks and moves inside the Downtown Detention Center and at one point it turns in to a scuffle with inmate John Cardenas.

    Roena is a taekwondo instructor.

A disciplinary letter outlining the incident says the inmate began to taunt the deputy after seeing his taekwondo. That’s when the Roena turns his attention to the inmate and instigates the fight. As things escalate other deputies rush in to separate the two men.

    (credit: CBS)

According to the disciplinary letter, Cardenas told the deputy, “That’s not a kick.”

Initially Roena reported that the inmate became physical first. Later review of the video by the Internal Affairs Bureau revealed that Roena was in fact the person who started the altercation.

His suspension will be complete by early December.

Customer sues Costco, claims employee used martial arts to break leg
By Emily Sinovic Published: Sep 23, 2014 at 11:07 PM PDT

In a lawsuit filed in Multnomah Circuit Court, a Costco customer accused employees of holding him against his will and breaking his leg after he was asked to show his receipt.
PORTLAND, Ore. - Court documents filed in Multnomah County Circuit court claim Costco employees asked customer Timothy Walls for his receipt as he left the Costco on NE Sandy Blvd. Employees say Walls refused to show him their receipt, violating Costco policy.

The lawsuit alleges employees made Walls feel as though he was "held against his will" (click here, to read entire comlpaint). The timeline of events details in the lawsuit include Walls response. The lawsuit states, Mr Walls grabbed the first Costco employee by the shirt collar, "pulling him away from the shopping cart holding his personal property."

Walls claims a second employee then intervened and, "...employed a martial arts type strike with his leg... fractured Mr. Walls' tibia."

A police report filed that day, January 28, 2013, details accounts from store employees including a handwritten statement from the employee Walls accuses of attacking him and breaking his leg. The employee writes, the Walls had pressed the other employee against the wall and the custoemr had his hands around that employees' throat.

The second employee goes on to write, "I stepped in, pulled member off--asked him to calm down. He put his hands on me and then I put him on the ground, to calm down. Then I left upon members' request."

When KATU asked, Bill Stockton, the attorney representing Costco, "Does Costco believe its employees were right in everything they did?" Stockton replied, "Yes."

Attorney Clayton Morrison represents represents Timothy Walls. Morrison told KATU, "Our goal is to have this issue resolved and to obtain compensation for Mr. Walls in regards to some pretty serious injuries he sustained."

Morrison went on to say, "If you’re a customers and you decide to walk out without a showing a receipt what can the store do in that situation can the store detain you?" He added, " We would like to clearly establish under Oregon law that you have a right to walk out of the store without being detained."

    Anthony Charles

    another pedophile
T&T martial arts instructor accused of molesting three boys
    October 16, 2014 · By Stabroek editor · 0 Comments 1 hour ago

(Trinidad Express) Martial arts instructor Anthony Charles was yesterday denied bail on sex charges against three teenage boys.
Charles, 50, of Cocoyea appeared on 12 charges, including six for buggery and five for serious indecency against the boys ages 16, 14 and 13.
The acts were allegedly committed between April 30 to September 1 this year at his home and at the San Fernando Hill.
Charles also faced one charge of grievous sexual assault.
Seven of the charges were against one alleged victim, with four of the alleged sexual acts happening between June 30 and August 1.
The charge of grievous sexual assault, allegedly committed against the same boy during the same time frame, was also read to Charles yesterday.
Charles was charged under the Sexual Offences Act by Constable Cedeno-Figaro.
The court was cleared for his appearance before San Fernando Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington around noon yesterday.
As he waited for the matter to be called, a handcuffed Charles stood alone in the prisoner’s dock.
He interacted with defence attorney Ainsley Lucky.
Lucky held for attorney Trevor Peters who, he said, was unwell.
In asking for bail, he said his client was a health and safety consultant with no previous matters before the court.
Lucky said Charles, who lived with his brother, was willing to relocate should he be granted bail.
Police prosecutor Cleyon Seedan objected to bail on the ground that there was a series of offences allegedly committed against the three victims over a period of time.
He also said the teens had been entrusted to Charles when the acts allegedly happened.
Wellington refused bail based on the number of separate charges and the ages of the victims who were allegedly in Charles’ care at the time.
He was told he could apply to a judge in chambers for bail and ordered to return to court on November 12.

If any of you are nurturing hired goons at your school, please stop. It is tarnishing our reputation.

Martial arts centres to come under scanner

Investigations by city police find that some such centres have a role in nurturing hired goons.

Martial arts training centres in the city limits will come under the scanner of City Spiders, the newly formed police wing, so as to keep track of their suspected alliance with hired goons and ‘quotation gangs.’

The move comes as recent police investigations have found that some karate training centres have a key role in nurturing and promoting hired goons.

Under the drive, the police will collect details of various martial arts training centres, trainers, and their affiliation particulars.

The wing mostly has policemen trained in various martial arts. Some personnel from the Armed Reserve force too have been made part of the team constituted under the City Police Commissioner.

During its ‘Kuber’ drive, the police had exposed the role of a prominent karate trainer from the city in illegal money-lending activities.

The police had later sealed his centre. Some of the trainees at the centre too had been found to be involved in various ‘quotation attack’ cases in the city.

The Railway police on Wednesday arrested a 39-year-old man from the Eranad Express on the charge of trafficking a minor girl from Orissa for household work at the residence of a doctor in Mangalore.

Assainar Ussan was arrested by a police team led by sub-inspector Muraleedharan from the Kozhikode railway station.

He will be presented before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-1 on Thursday.

“The doctor who sought the service of the 15-year-old girl hails from Kollam and action will be initiated against him also,” the police said.

The girl would be presented before the Juvenile Court after conducting a medical check-up at the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital.

Sources said that it was some passengers who alerted the police on the trafficking of the girl. “On detailed inspection, we found that the complaint was genuine,” they said.

29-stone martial arts expert evicted for attacking workmen who 'unsettled his snake'

Huge Christopher Lee has a month to move out after repeatedly abusing contractors, forcing one group to form a human chain to stop him attacking them

Kicked out: Christopher Lee has had several run-ins with contractors at his home

A 29-stone “martial arts expert” who threatened workmen for unsettling his pet snake has lost his home.

Christopher Lee has been given less than a month to move out of his property after Liverpool Mutual Homes took him to court over his persistent bad behaviour.

On one occasion Lee charged at workers trying to carry out repairs to the property and they were forced to form a human chain to protect themselves.

Another time he refused to let electricians work because he said they were unsettling his pet snake, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Lee and his and girlfriend Nicola Coghlan were both found to have breached their tenancy agreement because of their anti-social behaviour and now have until February 20 to leave.

Lee, 37, who also breached an injunction which demanded he vacate the property ahead of workmen visits, was also given a 28-day suspended prison sentence by a judge at Liverpool Civil and Family Court on Vernon Street.

Complaints about the couple first came to the attention of the housing firm in 2013.

They launched an investigation and in February 2014 managed to get Lee and Coghlan before the court.

LMH said the couple, of Springwood Avenue, had threatened contractors who were trying to upgrade their kitchen and bathroom.

Despite warnings, the final straw came when they refused to let gas safety engineers check their appliances last summer and they were brought before the court again.

Brave neighbours and LMH staff told the court on Friday how they had suffered ongoing nuisance, abuse, threats and anti-social behaviour from Lee and Coghlan.

Director of Landlord Services at LMH, Angela Forshaw, said: “Evicting tenants is always a last resort and we warned Christopher Lee and Nicola Coghlan on numerous occasions to improve their behaviour.

“This was the third time we had to go to court in order to stop them making tenants and staff members’ lives a misery.

“Despite warning them their home was at risk, they continued behaving aggressively and refused to let us in to check gas appliances – something we are legally required to do.

“The tenants who testified against the pair showed great courage in the face of extreme provocation. I hope this case will give anyone else who is suffering from anti-social behaviour the confidence to report it so we can take action.”

Lee was not present at Friday’s hearing and failed to attend the last court case although Coghlan did attend.

At the court appearance Lee did turn up for he was warned he could be arrested but said it would take an RAF rescue helicopter to budge him. He shouted: “There’s no point sending hairy-***ed coppers round! You’re going to need the 22 Squadron!”

There's been so many busts in the Mixed-Martial-Arts forum lately that I kind of forgot about this thread...

Former martial arts teacher charged with abusing student for 10 years
By Julie Zauzmer February 19 at 7:02 PM

A martial arts teacher has been charged with sexually abusing a student over a 10-year period beginning in 1984.

Montgomery County police said Thursday that they believe that Jorge Raul Allica, 56, who also taught in the Prince George’s County school system, may have abused other victims as well.

The victim came forward to police in September 2014, Cpl. Rebecca Innocenti said. In a statement, police said that Allica, who also goes by the name George Paul Allica, had sexual contact with the victim from 1984 to 1994 at his home in Silver Spring and the victim’s home in Chevy Chase. During most of that time, the victim was a minor.

Allica taught the boy martial arts at Aikido Shobukan Dojo in Northwest Washington, coached him in another sport and tutored him in an academic subject, police said.

Allica was arrested on Jan. 29 and charged with 11 sexual offense counts, Innocenti said. She said that police did not announce the arrest until Thursday because another potential victim had been identified in the course of the investigation, and they were waiting to see whether they would charge Allica right away with abusing that victim as well. He has not been charged in that case.

Police encouraged any other potential victims to contact authorities.

Police said that Allica, who now lives in Northeast Washington, taught at the martial arts school from 1983 to 1994, and taught at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Prince George’s County from 1989 to 1991.

According to the D.C. sex offender registry, he was convicted of child sex abuse in Maryland in 1995.

Since about 2000, he has worked as a landscaper, the police statement said.
