So many sex offenders. Why does the name William "Brent" Mullens ring familiar to me?
Clackamas martial arts instructor accused of sexual abuse
by Rick Bella, The Oregonian
Thursday August 20, 2009, 3:23 PM
The owner of a Clackamas-area martial-arts studio was arrested today, accused of sexually abusing two teenage male students.
William "Brent" Mullens, 37, who runs Northwest Martial Arts, 13175 S.E. Sunnyside Road, was arrested without incident at his Milwaukie home by Clackamas County sheriff's deputies.
Mullens is being held in the Clackamas County Jail, with bail set at $257,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Clackamas County Circuit Court on charges of first-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sexual abuse.
Officials did not say when the sexual abuse was alleged to have occurred or provide other details.
According to the studio's Web site, Mullens has been a martial-arts instructor for more than 14 years, specializing in tailoring instruction to students with special needs. The Web site says he is seeking a master's degree in adolescent and family therapy.
Deputies are continuing to investigate Mullens and Northwest Martial Arts, which remains open with other instructors, according to a person who answered the business phone.
Detective Jim Strovink, Clackamas County sheriff's spokesman, said investigators suspect that Mullens has engaged in long-term "grooming" for sexual contact.
Strovink urged other potential victims or anyone with information to call the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office's confidential tip line at 503-723-4949. Confidential text messages can be sent to CRIMES (274637 on the cell phone keypad), entering "CCSO" as the first word in the message.Deputies arrest martial arts instructor on sex abuse charges

I used to work at an animal hospital at Clackamas. OR.
there was a nice martial arts store runned by a Korean.
If I make a few calls, I might know what happened.
I meant it is a small town, every body knows everybody.
the town is connected to Portland, which is a port near a river.
it rains all the time.

Because one Power Ranger story today just isn't enough, here's one more: The Black Ranger just pled not guilty to DUI.
Lawyers for Walter Jones -- the dude who donned black spandex to fight Rita Repulsa as "Zack Taylor" back in the day -- were in an Alabama court yesterday to enter the plea.
Jones was arrested back in July when cops said he was driving while hammered around 4 AM.
A trial has been set for mid-November.
