Finally watched the Sifu Rudy fight

Why did the ref break them a little over a minute in? It looked like his opponent was rocked and about to be finished.

Just curious. I don't think he performed as badly as I hear some say. I'd even bet on him for a rematch - if the ref was competent. No ref, it would have ended there.

I agree, Rudy did well. What I especially liked was the way he landed a bunch of un answered shots, than tapped before he got any payback. Smart.

yeah, tapping to strikes after a couple punches and having no answer to a ground assult is great strategy.
    Bless you

-- I never said he was perfect - Knowing the kind of fight, he should have had a ground defense - but the BJJ guy was saved by the ref, it never would have gotten there if the fight was without the ref. Kinda funny considering how much these guys bellow.

FWIW - the '2007' clip with Asia is very, very wrong, but really, really funny. Guy's a natural comedian.

Strategy is how you make the best of what you got.
Training is how to get what you don't got.

I think Rudy needs to work on his cardio the most. That and just spar a lot.

Personally, I like to see fighters that win in the striking, especially if they have little to no ground skills and prefer to really train anti take down skills so they can keep the fight in thier element.
