    BEST Home Exercise machine EVER!

I have seen a ton of home exercise machines over the years. Heck, there are infomercials for the latest and greatest every nite. Except for the Chuck Norris one, I have never see one I would actually want to buy because all the exercises can generally be done as good or better with no equipment, or a standard weight bench set. Even Chuck Norris's machine is something I wouldn't actually buy. I just think it's the only one worth buying....untill today.

I just watched a long infomercial on a lower back training machine that is basically a professional Therapists machine used to rehab lower back injuries that has been scaled down for home use.

I have to say, after all the struggling I went through with my back injury, I think I am actually going to buy this for my home gym. It will be the only exercise machine I have ever bought as I prefer caveman methods over modern tools.

The exercise it does is simple, but you need some sort of platform to elevate you high enough off the ground to do it...that is really what this thing is, combined with a pendulum that allows you to add weight progressively. It's a simple concept. The same exercises could probably be done of a Men's Parallel bar set too....but who has one in the home?

The only problem is how much it costs....$500.00...

Those that are the most sucessful are also the biggest failures. The difference between them and the rest of the failures is they keep getting up over and over again, until they finally succeed.

The best home exercise gym is either:
    A. A power rack
    B. A power cage
    C. Dumbbells and/or kettlebells
    D. Odd objects (strongman type stuff): Kegs, sandbags, sleds, etc..
    E. Sledgehammers, axes, .....
    F.

A & B with barbell and plates of course
    Bless you

My favorite home gym equipment is a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus'.

Next to those it's a squat rack.

I was referring to midnite infomercial gadget type exercise equipment....not tried and true training devices.

As martial artists the goal should always be the quest for functional strength. Too much bulk will slow you down, screw your flexibility, and take all the grace out your art. If you honestly want a workout, conducive to the functional strenth we need, then go to the monkey bar gym http://www.monkeybargym.com/ and sign up for one of the online courses. Some of the courses will include the equipment you need to take full advantage of your bodyweight. You can take all the other trash out there and throw it in the same garbage can they came from - the MBG is all you need. You can also pick up some great excercises and courses at http://www.mattfurey.com/.

This isn't spam and I don't work for either of these places, but what they are offering is the only thing that makes sense unless you want to walk around like a thick headed zombie. I'm just offering this insight because as martial artists I think we should all have the best functional strength on the block. I hope these ideas help.

RD, do you remember the name of the product orhave access to a picture? If it`s as simple as you suggest I`m sure someone here could figure out how to make one cheaply if they understood how it works.

Sorry, some how I posted the wrong link originally.

Making something to duplicate it should not be too hard. My daughter does similar exercises off of the old Vault at her gym.

i personally think its a piece of ****, but the original equipment its based off of is awesome.

    this is a reverse hyper:

it can take years of abuse off your back, but its also about 2k. i think louie simmons even endorses the cheap version, but i dont think it would do most of us much good. money would be better spent towards a real reverse hyper or a glute ham raise to do similar hyper extentions from.

    gawed im durnk.
