    gar jsut means family in cantonese. in mandarin it is jia.

    ya hong jia is mandarin. but in mandarin its usually refered to as "hong jia chuan" or just "hong chuan". like hop gar is "xia jia chuan" or "xia chuan" no one stops at the "jia"

    and there's no R in cantonese?...buddy said that in the wing chun forum. How do you say Bak Hok in Mandarin and is Lama Pai called that in china...pai is tibetan?

    bak hok= bai he

    lama is the same. lama pai.
