This is not about bomb shelters and Jesus - this is about FACING FACTS. And the facts are that the country has been taken over by a relatively small group of ultra wealthy individual entrepreneurs, share holders, CEO's...namely...CORPORATIONS and the people and institutions they've bought and paid for, (ie.- certain politicians, judges, ie.- Scalia, Thomas)...

the massive amounts of media they've taken ownership and control over...certain neo-conservative think tanks they finance...AND along with their allies within the C.I.A. and certain portions of the military. THESE FACTS CAN'T BE REFUTED. So instead some clowns try do the "let's attack-the-credibility-of-the-messenger" routine - because they have no real answers to the issues being raised...which all started with whether of not the Bush family made/makes it's fortune in Oil. So back to square one for a moment: THE ENTIRE BUSH FAMILY - AS IS D I C K CHENEY...ARE DRIPPING IN OIL.

Which is why they cooked the books about Saddam Hussein's connection to Bin Laden, to 9/11...and whether or not he really was on the verge of acquiring the capability to deliver WMD's...because they wanted more of the OIL...and therefore abandoned the real fight against America's most dangerous enemies: Al Qaeda, Bin Laden, Taliban, etc.And the day will come within your lifetime when their TREASON will be recognized as such - and the SKULL & BONES CORPORATE SOCIALIST ELITE will be brought to their knees...and a lot of now-powerful people will go to jail.

Because the continued DANGEROUS burning of fossil fuels (ie.- Oil) and the continued unsatisfactorily answered threat of Islamic terrorist jihadists will all add up to one thing in the minds of most Americans: THE CORPORATE SOCIALIST ELITE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE TWO PROBLEMS AND THEREFORE MUST BE DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY.

I restarted this thread in order to continue (but now I'll start over) the program entitled: "THE AGE OF WARMING" - which provided much EVIDENCE to back up what I've been saying...

Amazing how this thread suddenly disappeared once I posted the first installment of the documentary that was aired on national T.V. last week.

But that's not going to happen this time.

Last Saturday night, January 19th, on CBS (channel 2), instead of “60 MINUTES”, they aired a special program entitled: "THE AGE OF WARMING. I taped it, and will give a word-for-word account of some of what was said about: Global Warming…Politics…the Bush Administration…BY SOME OF THE TOP SCIENTISTS IN THE WORLD.

The programs starts with what’s happening in Antarctica right now.

Moderator: “Scientists believed that Antarctica, at the bottom of the world, was too vast and too remote to be bothered by climate change anytime soon. But now, glaciers are setting speed records for melting, and whole colonies of penguins are disappearing. Why does it matter?”

“Well, Antarctica is a climate giant, driving ocean and wind currents worldwide – with enormous potential to raise sea level. Last year, we set out on an expedition to find out what’s happening down south. The first stop, the high mountains of Patagonia, in Chile, where you can actually see a new age beginning.”

“This massive ice (the camera now shows you and enormous piece of ice) is Glacier “O’Higgins”…it’s been frozen for tens of thousands of years in the mountains of southern Chile. O’Higgins is spectacular for it’s beauty – but for a scientist like Gino Casassa, (the camera now shifts to Casassa talking on a walkie-talkie while on a boat nearby) - it’s breath-taking for it’s speed.”

Casassa: “This was the Glacier front position in 1896” (as the camera shows where they are sitting on a large rock just a few feet from the water – and the Glacier is off into the background hundreds of feet away)…

Moderator: “Now O’Higgins is morphing into a lake – retreating more than any Glacier in South America.”

Moderatortalking face-to-face with Casassa: “The Glacier was sitting where we are sitting right now!?”

Casassa: “We would have been covered by ice. I think it’s a very clear picture that the world is getting warmer, and that the impacts which were projected even 10 or 20 years ago are happening right now.”

Moderator: “O’Higgins has fallen back 9 MILES in 100 years, throwing off icebergs that roll as they dissolve into the lake. 2,000 feet of ice, by 9 miles long - gone in just over 100 hundred years!"

Moderator: “Casassa is a glaciologist, who surprised us when he told us what he used to think of Global Warming.”

Casassa: “I just didn’t believe in Global Warming being produced by mankind. By us contaminating the atmosphere – I just refused to believe that”…(as a huge piece of ice falls and thunders into the water behind them – with the camera catching it as it happens at that very moment)…

Moderator: “Wow! Look at that one! (as they both turn around to see it crumbling behind them)…There’s a bit of your proof.”

Casassa: “Yeah, exactly.” (This was the second time that the camera caught big chunks of ice melting/falling into the water since the documentary began)...

Moderator: “He says now the evidence has convinced him. We set out to find more evidence as Casassa set out to measure the height of O’Higgins. (As we see them climbing up a mountain with the water/lake and the Glacier in the background hundreds of feet behind them)…We climbed to a spot where he crossed from Earth-to-Ice in 2004.”

Moderator talking to Casassa: “You thought we were going to walk from here (they’re standing on a small mountain hundreds of feet away from the water/lake with the Glacier off in the distance MANY hundreds of feet away past that)…onto the ice – and now look at it!”

Casassa: (laughing)…”We have a small problem now.”

Moderator: “Much to his surprise, there’s 1,000 feet of water WHERE HE WALKED 3 YEARS AGO!"

Now the moderator is in a completely different segment – with similar evidence being gathered at the North Pole (the Arctic), by another scientist…

Moderator: “Much of the new evidence showing that man is contributing to the warming of the planet, pumping out greenhouse gases that trap solar heat, was compiled by an American scientist, Bob Carell. In 2004 he led a study called the "ARCTIC CLIMATE IMPACT ASSESSMENT"…listen to the findings: the seas are rising, hurricanes will be more powerful like Katrina, and polar bears may be headed toward extinction.”

“What does the melting Arctic look like? We went north to see what Bob Carell calls, ‘A Global Warning’…”

(As the camera scans enormous sheets of ice/icebergs)…”Towers of ice, the height of 10 story buildings, rise on the coast of Greenland. It’s the biggest ice sheet in the Northern Hemisphere, 700,000 square miles. But temperatures in the Arctic are rising twice as fast as the rest of the world - so a lot of Greenland’s ice is running out to sea.”

Bob Carell: “Right now the planet is out of balance.”

Moderator: “Bob Carell is amoung the world’s top authorities in climate change. He led 300 scientists from 8 nations in the ‘ARCTIC CLIMATE IMPACT ASSESSMENT’ – and he believes he’s seen the future.

Bob Carell: “This is a bell weather, a barometer…the warning that things are coming. In 10 years here in the Arctic, we see what the rest of the planet will see in 25 or 30 years from now.”

(The camera now switches to a POWER POINT depiction of the North Pole – with the color “green” for land...the color “blue” for water and “white” for a massive ice sheet that looks like a continent)…

Moderator: “Look at what’s happened in less than 30 years. That’s the North Pole in September,1979…and that’s the North Pole in September, 2007…Have another look at that…September, 1979…and September of 2007…"IN THE SECOND IMAGE ABOUT HALF OF THE AMOUNT OF "WHITE" DISAPPEARED AND IS NOW "BLUE" !!!)”

“Back in 1987, President Reagan asked Carell to look into climate change – and he’s been at it ever since. In Iceland, he showed us Glaciers that were growing until the 1990’s are now melting. In fact, 98% of all the world’s mountain Glaciers are melting…In Greenland…the ice that is melting here is equivalent to all the ice in the Alps – THAT'S MORE THAN 105 MILLION ACRES OF MELTED ICE IN 15 YEARS !!!

I just want to point out that glaciers come and go. As a matter of fact a Long Island was the result of global warming. Must of had some big old SUVs back 21,000 years ago.

Long Island, as part of the Outer Lands region, is formed largely of two spines of glacial moraine, with a large, sandy outwash plain beyond. These moraines consist of gravel and loose rock left behind during the two most recent pulses of Wisconsin glaciation some 21,000 years ago (18 000 BP). The northern moraine, which directly abuts the North Shore of Long Island at points, is known as the Harbor Hill moraine. The more southerly moraine, known as the Ronkonkoma moraine, forms the "backbone" of Long Island; it runs primarily through the very center of Long Island, roughly coinciding with the length of the Long Island Expressway. Most of the more level land south of this moraine to the South Shore is the outwash plain.

Eventually, the glaciers melted and receded to the north, resulting in the difference between the North Shore beaches and the South Shore beaches. The North Shore beaches are rocky from the remaining glacial debris, while the South Shore's are crisp clear outwash sand. Running along the center of the island almost like a spine is the moraine left by the glaciers. (Bald Hill is the highest point along the moraine.) The glaciers also formed Lake Ronkonkoma, a kettle lake.

Moderator: “Carell says that all that water will push sea levels 3 feet higher all around the world in 100 years.”

Bob Carell: “While you and I sit here - another foot. Your children - another foot. Your grandchildren – another foot. And it won’t take very long for sea level to inundate…sea level will be inundating the lowlands of every country in the world – ours included.”

Moderator(now in a different segment): “In Greenland, we saw how unstable the ice is becoming on a flight with glaciologist, Carl Boghild.” (The camera is now with the two of them in a helicopter flying over some equipment that’s been set up)…”Boghild anchored 10 research stations to the ice, but every time he comes to visit – the ice, and his stations - have moved.”

Moderator talking to Boghild while they walk along a huge sheet of ice and come to a giant crack/fault line in the ice that shows a separation of a few feet between two massive sheets of ice – with a hole leading downwards and out of sight:

“One of the really impressive things you see from the air are all these crevices…these fissures…that are breaking through the ice everywhere. What causes this?”

Boghild: “This is actually the ice flow – where you have so much tension in the ice that it cannot stick together and it breaks and opens a crevice that goes about 150-200 feet down.”

Moderator: “And it’s melting.”

Boghild: “It’s also melting on the sides, yes…It’s a small river down there.”

Moderator: “A leading theory says those small rivers are lubricating the bottom of the ice sheet – helping it move off the bedrock and out to sea. There goes Greenland.”

Boghild: “Yeah, that’s true.”

New segment of documentary…

Moderator: “Arctic Warming is accelerating. It’s a chain reaction. As snow and ice melt, they reveal dark land and water that absorbs Solar Heat – that melts more snow and ice – and around it goes.”

“There has long been a debate about how much of this is Earth’s naturally changing climate and how much is man’s doing. Paul Myefsky, at the University of Maine, says the answer to that question is frozen right here:

(The camera is now in a frozen laboratory vault wherein ice slabs are kept and studied and Myefsky – dressed very warmly - is handling some ice slabs and talking)…

Myevsky: “We’ll go over here and take a look at an ice core that we got from Greenland.”

Moderator talking about what Myevsky is (and has been) doing: “With funding from the National Science Foundation, Myevsky has lead 35 EXPEDITIONS collecting deep ice cores from Glaciers. The ice captures everything in the air – so it lays down an atmospheric record THAT COVERS HALF A MILLION YEARS…”

Myevsky: “We can go to any section of the ice core and tell basically what the greenhouse gas levels were…we can tell whether or not it was stormy…what the temperatures were like…”

Moderator: “We brought Myevsky to Greenland where he says his research has proven the same thing that it did in the Antarctic: THAT THE ICE AND THE ATMOSPHERE HAVE MAN'S FINGERPRINTS ALL OVER THEM."

(The two of them talking while on a boat off of Greenland, and the moderator is facing Myevsky and says): “We haven’t seen Co2 levels like this in how long?”

Myevsky: “We haven’t seen Co2 levels like this in HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS - IF NOT MILLIONS OF YEARS."

Moderator: “What does that tell you?”

Myevsky: “It all points to something that has changed and something that has impacted the system that wasn’t doing it more than a hundred years ago, and we know exactly what it is: IT'S HUMAN ACTIVITY."

Moderator talking while we watch cars and buses driving down a city street – and smoke billowing out of some power plant smoke stacks: “Activities like burning fossil fuels, releasing carbon dioxide or Co2, and other Greenhouse gases. The U.S. is by far the largest polluter."
