    Chinese translators

Does anyone happen to know of any good Chinese translators these days. I've become aware of a certain Chinese character over the past couple of months and am having trouble deciphering what it means.

This wouldn't usually bother me, but this character keeps coming up on a regular basis and would very much like to know what it means and (if possible) what the pinyin form of it is.

    What do you think?

By far, I think http://www.cojak.org/ is the best online character reference. However, you may need to install the CJK Unicode character sets specific to your system (google search "CJK" "install" "windows xp" or similar).

Also, another useful translator is at http://www.mandarintools.com for more good stuff.

Both sites catalog characters by number of strokes from a given radical. It may take some time, but even a round-eye like me was able to figure it out.

    Good luck finding your character!

Thank you, herb ox! After browsing the websites you suggested, I finally understand what it was I was searching for.

    Jaiyo!
