Or better yet tell the douch bag liberals to get off there ass and drill for oil in Alaska or off the coast or release some of our own reserves to help drive down the price.......but nah.....that might make a moose **** himself.
or even BETTER yet tell the conservative numnuts who dont give a sh!t about the wilderness they spoil or the lives of soldiers they sacrifice to keep our small foothold in Middle eastern oil to GET UP OFF THEIR FAT A$$ES and GO AND MAKE CARS THAT RUN ON SOMETHING OTHER THAN FOSSIL FUELS.

    Wake up ,, TWS
It makes me mad when people say I turned and ran like a scared rabbit. Maybe it was like an angry rabbit, who was going to fight in another fight, away from the first fight.

Anyone casting their vote for president based on "Gosh, what do you think the rest of the world wants us to do?" should pack up their skis and head north.
A six foot tall brazilian tranny in neon green booty shorts just jumped out at the correct from behind a dumpster while the correct was strolling down an alleyway minding its own business and then proceeded to sodomize the correct with a rolled up magazine.

Oddly enough six months later the correct became pregant with another correct.

Aren't oil companies making recored profits over there? they are here.
People are not allowed to make profits......midget pleazzzzz.

That is so assine that I have to believe that you just had one too many pain-killers and maybe just slipped off the porcelein sink and hit your head while putting your mom's make-up on yourself and practicing the line......."put the lotion in the basket".

If you can't see that, then there isn't much to really talk about, we'll have to disagree
    guess so

    Thumbs down bad net manners

It's disingenuous to mix in my quote with the ultra leftist rantings of several of the other posters....

Was not intended that way I assure you. I was just to lazy to use correct forum posting measures at this time of night.

It was just a statement in agreement but I can see how it looks when applied in the context you were looking at it in.

Though......the first quote response is in agreement with Unk....whose post I thought was on the spot.....and yes his comment is in reflection to your own viewpoint which I do not agree with.

    Second....have a coke and a smile...relax

For those that want a simple. Back to back look on how the two men stand up in issues.

    For me it's **** if I do. **** if I don't.

A lot of what they are saying is not to far off from another. Unless....a certain one really is the great pretender they say he is.

On a off topic which is not addressed in that post...McCain on nuc energy is the bomb and he should be given a bj form Belladonna just for trying to get us out of the stone age and up to speed.

Careful, this midget has retired more people than social security.

Companies not only are allowed to make profits, they have to.
Not really the point is it?

Then what is your point. Be more clear with the statement if you don't want anyone to question it.

By the way, easy with the internet threats kimosaub.

    Well, YOU said:

Point being that IF they are making record profits that perhaps your post referring to 6-8 cents a gallon may NOT show the whole picture.

    That was the point, Tonto.

Hey, I am not an oil exec, though I would give my neighbors left arm to be one.

You want to look at oil prices, look at the full spectrum.

Exxon makes 7-8 cents a gallon....then pan over some more....the Federal government tax makes about 18.4 cents a gallon.....pan over some more and you see that the State Tax makes about 15-30 cents a gallon.

Now there are differences in companies between massive players like Chevron and then refinery companies like Tesoro, but it is a total joke to see Congress pull up big oil exec's and grill them about there salaries, when the real money is being made by our own gub-ment on the fuel.

If the politicans were really concerned about saving us some money they could take some of the tax out....like John McCains gas tax....for a short break.

Or to actually let our oil companies do their job and drill in ANWR or the Gulf of Mexico to help reinvest back into our own future and even start pumping some of the oil out of Irag freakin yesterday as payment for sacrifice due.

btw- My ex-porn name was Tonto when I debuted in Poland.

Gas companies here make cents on the liter too and most of the cost is indeed taxes.
Yet they make billions in profits, the gas prices flactuate almost daily, even though crude prices may only change once a month.
Even though Canada is basically self-suficient in oil and natural gas, they still place the market price if crude from the ME goes up.
The canadian government gives them serious coin and tax breaks for further development and such, and one must remember that, oil being a natural resources, if belongs to the people, the nation, and that the oil companies have been allowed to extract it under certain conditions.
Now, I am not in favour for over regualting ANY industry, but this one needs a serious over haul, there is practicaly ZERO market competition between oil companies, they all sell at the same price.
I undertsand the governments reluctence to get involved, after all, the higher the price the more the government gets in taxes.

A lot of these oil companies are old & bureaucratic in a mature almost outdated industry... an essential but old & stodgy industry. They don't even know what to do with the profits they gain because they can't imagine another business model except the one they have now (and the past that got them here).

A giant overhaul....really depends on what you mean. There are a lot of ways to go with that statement.

Alternative fuel is where it is at, the US has always been a massive forefront for new technology, let the other countries build cars and other low tech area's while we focus on what will be coming in the future.

Well, the Pentagon spends in 40 hours what the whole years budget is for Alternative energy sources R&D in the states, according to Time.

This may be way off topic for this thread by now, but...

Here's a Michigan perspective. Can't vote for Obama. He claims that he'd be willing to go against the party when it matters, yet he did no campaigning in Michigan and pulled himself off of our ticket. Michigan did break the rules. We did, but for a good reason. This recession that everyone is starting to feel started in Michigan about 20 years ago and hasn't let up. Michigan's economy is in the toilet and show's little sign of recovery. Yet- because of the delegate system, every vote DOESN'T count and every voice IS NOT heard. Michigan had to make a bold move to get it's issues out in the national spotlight. Unfortunately it didn't work because the media didn't ask Why Michigan broke the rules.

Hillary at least pretended to give a $hit. Barak--- he's too pedigree. We see how the Dem delegate system is flawed. There is no vote. The Super's decide who they want and pretend to have an election. Make no mistake... the delegate was hand picked from the beginning. Why else would they have demanded that she withdraw so early when it was so close?

McCain will win hands down. There's too many people like me out there in the undecided ranks that have become completely turned off with the Dem party.

The Pentagon has a big budget that is for sure. But the R&D budget still is nothing to sneeze at....big country remember

Either way, like most things in technology, you have to look at the private sector to get it going first.
