Traditional Shaolin or Monks in Cali?

    Amituofo,

Im a student of Shi Yan Ming (NYC) but it looks like I may be moving to California and was wondering what kind of options are available for quality Shaolin training around where I will be at.

I will probably be living in or close to Santa Monica California. Are there any Shaolin monks or good quality traditional Shaolin schools in or around this area. Hopefully with the least amount of Wushu as possible. Ive never heard of any monks in Cali though.

    Any recommendations are appreciated.

One of my masters at the Chicago Shaolin Temple used to be in LA. I believe, but I could be wrong, that he was here:

Also, just in case anyone else is reading this because you mentioned california, there is also www.shaolinint.com in the SF area. Those guys came to a performance in Chicago and video can be found on youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=yhCTxOs7Kz8&feature=related

Shi Yan Ran (in this video) is the head monk of that school.

I was wrong. The Los Angeles Temple where my Shifu was has this website:

It is connected to the Songshan Shaolin Temple and the Abbot. Up to you if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but the monks probably know Shi Yan Ming there.

what about USSD? They are connected with the Shaolin Temple. In fact, they are considered to be the US Ambassadors for the Shaolin Temple.
