Anyone heard of Chuan Wu Kung Fu Institute

Anyone heard or have experiece with Master David Theroff from San Jose. He is starting classes in the suburb of Chicago, and I want to know if he is legit. From his website, seems like teaching too many different styles, but maybe he is that good. Here's his website:

    Thanks

Hmmm... ya. That site seemed a bit odd. And when a school tries to hard to teach everything, they usually end up teaching nothing of worth...

    I'd agree, caviat emptor.

My concern is over a few points:

    1) Strict division of "internal" and "external".

    2) Presence of "drunken" and "bird" on the "external" styles list.

Drunken is, imho never a good sign as drunken boxing is the art of getting punched in the head while you stagger around like an idiot.

What is meant by "bird"? Does he mean eagle claw? I'd ask "does it mean crane" but crane is listed separately on the list from "bird".

    3) Forms collector: 5 styles of taiji?!?
Plus bagua and xingyi.... that would be an intensive curriculum in and of its self. Add to that a minimum of 8 bare-hand forms and 15 weapon forms and you are looking at a curriculum with no less than 28 forms! Now I'm not an absolute opponent to forms practice on a curriculum. I've even advocated forms as being beneficial for general health (cardio = good for you) and have promoted certain, specific, forms (Iron Thread) as being even useful for fight conditioning.

But, come on, 28 different forms? Minimum? This is a warning sign.

    4) No photos but drawings of (Wu Song?) GNPing a tiger.

    5) Edit that... there is a photo available: This guy is one of their instructors.

6)Read the bio of "Master David"

    7) Did I mention that guy (well it could be Wu Song) Ground-and-Pounding the Tiger?
