    Sparring Equipment

    Hello All,

I am posting this here on behalf of my teachers, my school and on behalf of any other martial arts group out there that is being robbed by this company.

"There are a number of companies manufacturing martial arts equipment in Pakistan. In the fall of last year I placed an order with Tango Sports (www.tangosports.com) for several dozen OEM gloves and shin guards. I had numerous conversations with Wazeer Mughal and his brother that own and manage the company. I have 15 emails with the company about logo placement, cloth patch design and cost. The entire purchase was paid for and the company kept stalling on delivery. After three more months of emails (and phone calls) with NO RESPONSE from Tango Sports, it was clear that the order was not going to ship. I created an alias email identity and the company responded right away. Over three weeks I pretended to be another interested buyer and the company was fully engaged, promising a great product. I then revealed that I had heard about Tango Sports not fulfilling an order with another martial arts school and started corresponding with the company about my original order. They gave me a story about reorganization and that my original paperwork had been lost but that they had the equipment. I would only need to send another $300 to get the equipment. I reluctantly sent the money and never got another response to my emails and received NO EQUIPMENT.
The order was supposed to arrive last September and I am still waiting. This company has stolen over $1,000.00 of my money DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM; these guys are liars and thieves.
I have all the documentation to back up my allegation and will be happy to show anyone who asks."

Please feel free to contact me and I will put you in touch with my teachers. We have been waiting for this equipment for quite some time. Money has been exchanged and nothing has been received in return. All attempts to contact the business have gone unanswered, unless it for new business.
Please be careful and find somewhere else to purchase your equipment if you are doing business with this company. Please email me about your interaction with this company if you have had any.

Thank you kindly for your time,

Sorry to hear that; worst off the company isn't state side, which makes so hard do anything against them.

That sucks man. That is unfortunately the risk when dealing with non-established companies.

Did you forward your complaint the consulate office in Pakistan?
    http://islamabad.usembassy.gov/contact-us.html

Obviously, this won't really do much to help your situation. For that I'm sorry man. But at the very least it can do is notify U.S. authorities (ie. someone with your interests in their country) to the fact that this sort of thing is going on. The least they can do is track it and maybe place a warning of some sort for future potential customers if they get enough complaints. Obviously given the region we're talking about though and the other issues going on there, this sort of thing is probably gonna be in that low priority sort-of category....

But again, if you are out to place warnings, be sure to at least send them an email. And for future reference if you are thinking about doing business with a company in a country, especially something that is not established to the mainstream U.S. market (as far as I know, my shorts made in China) then you really should contact them (consulate) in the particular country to see if they happen to have any complaints on file, or just general info. They might, or might not. But it is a resource out there that I do think not too many people bother to think about.

Sorry for your loss BUT ... You sent them another $300?

I didn't even have to finish reading the sentence before I knew you wouldn't see the money, the gear or hear from them again.

    Experience is a *****.

I learned that lesson on 42nd St.

I recently sat through a conference in Shanghai about the difficulties of resolving such disputes between American and Chinese businesses. I'm guessing it's just as difficult if not more so dealing with Pakistan.

Your shin guards might have paid for some Jihad gear.

if you paid by credit card, you should have some sort of fraud protection, even if the company is out of the US - I purchased a DVD series on-line from a co that not only took forever to send it, it was also obviously bootlegged; I had been in touch w/AMEX t/o and basically had to write a few letters detailing what I had done, compay's response, etc. in the end, my card was not billed and AMEX was still looking into it via their fraud dept.

even if you didn't pay w/credit card your business should be able to write it off as a loss

a few minutes on that "google" thing and I was able to find out

    1. They have had 3 different web sites in 14 months

    2. They are listed as "unreliable" on a business industry listing site

    3. They are also most likely a company being questioned in Canada for selling "fakes"

IE a few minutes on google and I'd probably NOT have entered into business with them

Why in the world were you shopping in Pakistan for MA equipment? I hate to sound like a jerk here, but it seems you were just ASKING to be robbed. No research, continued payments even though there was NO delivery, dealing with a business in a VERY unstable country. Hell, you may have been helping terrorists by entering into this questionable deal.

Either you were trying to buy something on the VERY cheap or you are just naive. Like LMDDGFHFDFGHFJDKSKGF (sic?) said, he noticed after a single Google search that the whole operation seemed shady.

You don't really have to warn people not to order from these guys because most people wouldn't anyway.

Ok.. so I sounded like a jerk...sue me.
