I started before I could remember, as a kid of 4 years old.

I got back into in my 20s because I missed it.

I continued my studies because I had an aptitude for it.

Now I study because I see new things to learn, better players to compare against. it sucks. Because really doing it means devoting tons of time and energy and sacrificing. But its not my way to withdraw from a challenge, especially the ones I impose on myself.

So I want to win at a high level.

Then someday I want to retire and teach my kids (that I'll hopefully have) and students from a place of real understanding.

I was a perfection persuer since a kid.

In real life, there are a lot of things less than ideal or imperfection.

I may get so stressed from the disorderliness of mundane daily life and job.

Only when I practice MA, I am "living" in a "perfect" state or in persuit of a perfection and an ideal physical state.

    I am relieved and relaxed.

Time stops or everything becomes timeless.

I may practice mantis set that was first practiced in high school in late 1970's.

When I do that, I am in the mindset that 1970's is now or only yesterday.

some people enjoyed music, tune, food, wind, beautiful women, painting, watching birds, nature etc

I enjoy practice MA and find out that how sucky I am, so I may improve on that.

    In addition

church music makes me calm and in peace.

so practicing MA has the same calming effect on me.

    so I practice CMA "religiously".

    Wow.

    It's fun.
    It's challenging.
I am constantly seeking to improve myself. There is always a higher mountain. Gung-Fu is one thing that as you get older, your technique gets more refined.
    But mostly, it's fun.

who do you fight? you arrest and kill people?. when you placed your last sparring partner under arrest in a cage match, did he knock you down first and the ref said stop and the next time you got to arrest him? he would have boot****ed you the first time before your chaperone broke up your tussle.
