The Long Weapon forms were very good, I agree with you Troy, being first time up, they did well, all first time competitors. we saw many smiling faces, this is great. From me to your students " thank you for getting out their and doing your best, stand proud, you are our future".

I'm hoping the traditional events will expand at TCKFMC

We did extend invitations to all the local traditional schools on our mailing lists. Modern wushu has dominated the S.F. Bay Area for so long, but I remember back when I first started in this, this used to be a great bastion for TCMA. There was a slow yet steady migration towards modern wushu, which is designed for competition. Even the karate people have to bow down to modern wushu when it comes to forms competitions - the finals of our event was no exception. The last big traditional event we had was the 2nd International Kung Fu Wushu Masters' Exhibitions , which was held in Oakland in 2007. It's my personal hope that our event will move towards that direction. That being said, one of the major changes we'll see next year is an additional ring for modern wushu. We had two this year, but we plan to add a third next year.

I can't believe I let a freelancer call me "Lucy"...

...it's better than "Loosey" I suppose...

    Hey Lucy

You know, the article was written in such a way that people wouldn't know who Lucy was to avoid potential embarrassment. Unless, of course, Lucy goes and outs herself on her own forum. Go ahead. Fall on that sword. I tried to protect you.

    Many Videos

The videos taken on the day of the championship are all still up on the championship page.

    Championship Videos

Plus, there is a free DVD insert coming with next month's magazine with new footage. And there is the Deluxe version which you can purchase that has about two hours of footage from the tournament. Wait. I sound like an ad? C'est la vie.

Subscribe NOW and get a Free DVD!

As promised, there will be a FREE DVD insert in our next issue - our November December, on the newsstands in early October. This DVD will be more exclusive coverage of Tiger Claw's KungFuMagazine.com Championship & Shark City Nationals - different from what will be on the Deluxe DVD and what was shown on the webcast.

The DVD insert will be provided for free for all subscribers. Subscribe now and you'll be sure to get one. The DVD insert will also be available at select bookstore outlets. We're only burning a limited number of these, so once they're gone, there won't be anymore.

Tiger Claw's KungFuMagazine.com Championship II & the 7th annual Shark City Nationals is June 12, 2010.
