    Double Gan's (Bian)?

Does anyone know where to purchase the hard metal double Gan's at?

Or do you have to buy them individually now, I'm having a hard time finding any...

    Thanks a lot,

    If you're into hard whips...

...you must pick up our latest issue. Our 2009 September/October is on the newsstands now and the featured weapon is a spectacular Dragon headed hard whip from the collection of David Fannin. Check it out.

Awesome Gene! Actually I let my subscription lapse unfortunately but I will definitely pick up one on the newsstand.

    I did see that picture.
But it is not the same type of whip as advertised in the above links.

I wish I could get a modern reproduction of that type of whip(that wasn't hundreds of dollars)

Halfway down this article is a Qing Dynasty drawing of a man ready to strike with his pair of whips.
You can see that the whips are much longer than the ones advertised above.

Here is a picture of Weituo with the whip. In this case it is called vajra. This is from the wood carved lattice work of a temple in Tainan, Taiwan (where I lived for many years, hence my name).

There is an article here about Weituo and his vajra which includes two statues and a painting of the weapon that I would like to have.

Here is another picture of gaurdians of the gate from a temple in Tainan city.

One thing that I find odd, most temples include massive and frightening dieties and guards that are either painted, carved or statues, yet this weapon is not easy to find.

It is not as if it is not a popular weapon, there are forms for this weapon, including two person forms, though we usually have to use a short stick.

    Laoshi,

Thanks. Lol actually the last two months I've been trying to find them with no real success believe it or not, thanks for your links. I can use either the Gan or Bian, so I will check into them.
