Question Just a little CMA quiz...

    Please tell me:

1- What is the major tenet in common with all Chinese martial arts (CMA)?

2 - What is the main strategic points of CMA?

3 - What are the main important body mechanics rules of CMA?

4 - What is the most important things to note about CMA footwork?

This was brought up by Sal on the Shaolin Do thread, and I was just curious what everyones answers would be to these questions...
Although the changes are infinite, the principles are the same.

1- If there's one thing I've learned, that despite the commonality of styles, no one ever addresses it really. It's almost always a case of "we are different, even better than..."

2- it seems to be the kick/punch/lock and throw but lacks in ground fighting(grappling on the ground/wrestling)

    3- structure is everything.

4- footwork changes from style to style. in any event, it must facilitate mobility and rapidity and solidity.

IN short, there are no short lock stock and barrel answers as there will be a variety of stuff that is style independent.

cma has similar stances and if it comes from a similar source, say "shaolin" then you will see same/same stuff across styles due to the shared heritage.

In my opinion, cma, jma, tma in general gets to wordy and cryptic and gets to cerebral about something that isn't in the least bit cerebral at all.
