Former Reno resident Gina Carano is returning to mixed martial arts fighting.

The Strikeforce press release also says she has left the Xtreme Couture camp in Las Vegas, headed by MMA veteran Randy Couture, and is now being trained by Greg Jackson, who has trained UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

Carano left Reno after the first grade at Jesse Beck Elementary School.

She also appeared on the television show "American Gladiators" as the character Crush.
