    Shaolin Neigong sets

I was doing this with others helping out in the Shaolin forum.
I would like to post links to videos to compare / contrast different versions of Shaolin Neigong sets. Hopefully people can participate and also provide any info they have on these sets and others that you might know of. I always keep my cup empty, so I proceed accordingly to learn more, whether I already know of something or not, thanks!

Shaolin Liuhe Gong - Six Harmony Gong 少林六合功

The 少林六合功 - Shaolin Six Harmony Gong sets (Shaolin Liuhe Gong) are considered one of the cornerstone foundational sets that teaching important concepts intrinsic to the internal martial arts.
The main thing taught here are the concepts of "swing, sink, point".

Also, many Shaolin Neigong sets also have self defense applications, which is often a shock to many people. I teach these in seminars I do worldwide.

The organs / meridians, in order, corresponding to the 6 movements are: Lungs, Spleen, Liver, Triple Burner, Heart, and Kidneys.

Here's the name of the six movements
    1. Single Hand Pushes Mountain -- Dan Shou Tui Shan
    2. Wind Swings Willow -- Feng Bai Yang-Liu
    3. Chest center hugs Moon -- Huai Zhong Bao Yue
    4. Hide Tiger posture (single palm presses down) -- Fu Hu Shi
    5. Lift Palm to Sky -- Tuo Tien Zhang
    6. Subdue Dragon Palm -- Jiang Long Zhang

In some schools #4 is called the Show Dragon and Hide Tiger posture.

This is from Zhu Tianxi's VCD, it is not the exact way to do the set, it is the public version, marks added to spot fakes who learned only from the VCD.

Shaolin Chan Yuan Gong - Chan (Zen) Circular Exercises - 少林禪圓功

Shaolin Chan Yuan Gong - Chan (Zen) Circle Exercises - 少林 禅 圓功 or 禅圜功 .

Note that Chan Yuan is a play on words, because "Chan Yuan" also means "circular", and uses this character for Chan: 缠 rather than 禅 (禪).

It is a set of internal exercises that are the ancient root of Tai Ji Quan and related to TJQ's 13 Gong movements (Peng, Lu, Ji, An, Cai, Lie, Shou, Kao, Chin Pu, Tui Pu, Tsuo Ku, You Pan, Chung Ting).

Shown in the video (there are more than these) are:
    1. Avoid (evade) Sun, Hide (conceal) Clouds -- Bi Ri Zhe Yun (6x)
    2. (Greet) In the Wind, Wipe Dirt -- Ying-Feng Hui Chen (6x)
    3. Forcibly Split Hua Mountain -- Li Pi Hua Shan (6x)
    4. Move against Water-row (current) Boat -- Ni Shui Xing Zhou (8x)
    5. Autumn Wind Sweeps Leaves (Twist Waist move around Hips) -- Qiu Feng Sao Ye (Niu Yao Zhou Kua) (8x)
    6. Shake Body Sway Shoulders -- Yao Shen Huang Bang (8x)
    7. Forcibly Pull Nine Bulls -- Li La Jiu Niu (8x)

Zhu Tianxi demonstrates (again public marked version):

    Another version by him:

Here he is showing self defense applications to the Chan Yuan neigong movements:

    Hello Mr. Canzonieri,

I ask alot, I know but..

How much different is Liu He Gong in real from the way Master Zhu Tian Xi does it ?

And in the not exact same way, does this mean : the one move is suppose to be at the end, and the other move from the first on number 3 ? Or is it more with the breathing, postures, hand gestures, way of looking etc ?

In the video there are 6 postures, does he do any of these 6 good, or are all * fake is a big word, but not how they suppose to be, just a small look in the kitchen for the public ?

( when I have alot of money, I will take a private lesson from you ! )

I am just curious about this Liu He Gong, I find it very beautifull and since its a good fundament for all forms, I want to know much more of it.

And Zhu Tian is high on my list to see on videos, and since you said that how he does it was not the exact way, was difficult to believe, because I cannot see any publicness in there ( I am a newbie so I dont have much references or stuff )

    Much Greetings from Eugene

Am or incorrect to note that Beijing 8 shi taijiquan shows semblance of integration as to resemble some Shaolin neigong sets?

But that's what a teacher is for, you need to learn foundational material, THEN you will know when a demonstration is slightly changed for public view.

The 'exact way' means according to the foundational body mechanics, and it can be very subtle. If you copy the videos, you are doing the sets like a robot, with the refinements that knowing the foundational body mechanics would bring, and ONLY a teacher can show you them and make corrections to your skills and progress. You don't know what to look for and why otherwise.

    Of course.

Plus, he's video only shows the first twelves rows, so only half the set.
