Qigong on plants? Master Zhou Ting-Jue. pic

Can someone explain to me what these people are doing?

Is that some dark arts qigong stealing energy from plants, or is it something good?

If anyone is a member of Offtopic.com, here is a thread from a guy who is going to this guy to get healed. So far he says he's pain free for the first time in 8 months. There's a bunch more pictures and a youtube vid in the thread.

Based on physical goings on alone, I don't think it's "bad." A bit new-agey though.

I was hoping this thread would stay in the main forum where more people would see it.

Oh well, sorry for posting in the wrong forum, technically.

and you can take it from the mist, but not from the mist that rises from the ground, only the mist that settles from the air... i steal it from the wind, who steals it from most everyone else.

    i just steal cosmic qi

ever wonder why we can see all those dead stars still? its the universe conforming itself to my will. my coming was fortold and forseen and as such the cosmos had to prepare themselves for my appearance. yes it took billions of years to prepare for me. what else would you expect?

its really all about me, and you all are just borrowing MY qi.

They could be doing any of a dozen different things, from healing injured plants or helping them grow taller, to drawing energy straight from them or even trying to suck the life right out of them. They could also be doing something simple like trying to use chi to bend the plant or cause it to grow in another direction too. Long story short, showing people holding their hands over plants in a still image tells you pretty much nothing. As for rather it is good or bad, not many things they could be doing (with the exception of trying to all out kill the plants) are bad on their own. Is it possible that they are training to become energy vampires to draw qi from other people? yes, that's one possibility, and in that case it would be bad. But it wouldn't even really be bad just to draw energy from a plant. As someone above pointed out, we do that all the time anyways!

It is based on a much older science, however newer, more refined science has helped to enhance it through knowledge of ions and such. As for taking qi fromt he moon and the mountains. You can take qi from the light coming off the moon, and energy from the mountain that you are standing near, but beyond that...

Not really true, there are and have been scientific experiments that are seeking to understand how Qigong works.

There are major hospitals in China and qigong is often part of the treatment. Millions of people have been treated in hospitals with qigong therapy.

Even my local hospital has qigong classes for their cancer patients.

Many western scientists investigating qigong say that meters show a weak electromagnetic force emerging from people's hands as they move while doing qigong movements and exercises.

There's lots of research out there on this topic, you should do some research of your own first before much such declarations.

If the percentage of people that are sick in the hospital in the USA where also true for China, they would go bankrupt (based on their population size).
Qigong is a major source of treatment for keeping people out of the hospital.

This website keeps track of scientific research done on qigong:
