    Bayh's Retirement

    Hmmmm.......

Sort of says something when a conservative democratic senator gets out because he can't work with the people on the other side of the aisle and then say "Congress doesn't work anymore"

I love these teabaggers who worship Reagan......however truth be known, Reagan and Tip O'Neill were good friends and worked together on a lot of issues.....As Olbermann said the other day "A modern day Reagan would be hated by the teabaggers"

The only compromise I see from the republicans is "Kill every thing we don't support."

Doesn't matter though, anyone who is even slightly left of center knows that Washingrton is no place for liberals. They should concentrate on local issues.

Bayh did not solely blame the Republicans. He blamed the liberal wing of the Democratic Party as well. Educate yourself before you open your mouth, and then maybe you wouldn't end up with your foot in it all the time.
When given the choice between big business and big government, choose big business. Big business never threw millions of people into gas chambers, but big government did.

the rats are jumping ship. One can sugar coat this anyway you want but the democrats are scrambling to distance themselves from Obama. Kennedy was about to get crushed. I expect to hear more of the "wants to spend more time with his family" type schtick. The truth is anti -incumbant fever is rampant and both parties better pull thier collective heads out of thier asses.

Olberman is the dumbest guy on tv. Hes a ranting shill for the left and gave up trying to pretend he was unbiased years ago. Reagan would be elected again in a massive landslide, especially in this climate. The only compromise you see is "kill everything we dont support"? is exactly what the democrats have done. If the GOP wants to show it has any balls it needs to become not only the party of No but hell no.

From what I can see Obama has bent over backwards to get people to work with him on healthcare.......It's now just a pale imitation of what it once was. Even so the teabaggers in congress will not any bills no matter what compromises are made.

Your right, the GOP is now the party of "Hell no". Is that how government is really suppose to work?

Does anyone realize that the 60 vote fillibuster rule has only been in place for around 60-70 years. Before that it was 67 votes. However back then no one actually used it as a weapon.....that has changed.

I think the Dems should call their bluff. If they want to fillibuster make them hold the floor 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Let the American people see this.

Those closed-door meetings he didn't allow the Republicans into sure showed some bipartisanship, didn't it?

Actually it is. The Founding Fathers did not want it to be easy to pass laws. They knew more laws=less freedoms.

Considering less than 40% support the healthcare bills in Congress, the Republicans are on the right side on this issue.

So congressmen voted for a bill they did not support? It passed through both houses of congress.

Also, why would the founding fathers have supported no compromise on any thing? and would have been against both side working together to give and take?

I should have specified that under 40% of the American people support those bills.

    Nowhere did I say that.

Well we do know at least two Senators did sell their votes. If they supported the bill so much, why did they need bribes to vote 'yes'?

It'all smoke and mirrors, a deception to misinform and misdirect the American democratic process by speaking part truth to lead!

Bayh and his wife are the poster couple for Corporate benefits to the max!
He is mounting a 'secret campaign' to install his own brand of corporate welfare and reach for the 2012 or better yet 2016 Presidential Seat of USA!

Check out the corporate backing and boards (legal) that is representative of their friends. Bayh is looking for the big seat of power and so far he has not gotten it so he has to aim higher now that the Supreme Court and the "Corporations are people" edict has passed. The Big Game is on!

I guess anything is possible. However it would seem like quitting your job might work against you. Edwards left the senate to run for president and was never really a serious challenger

Same with Palin, I doubt it would have made any difference if she had remained Gov or not but it sure doesn't help her.

I honestly believe that Gingrich is really serious about 2012. However I have a feeling the dems will remind the voters about how he just threw up his hands and quit the congress.

Hey asshole, you do know this is a martial arts forum, right? All you ever do is beg for attention to your idiotic leftist political nonsense. I'm sure there is a political forum you could go to and gas on to your heart's content. Go there.

Let's compromise on changing the U.S. to a socialist state.

Reagan thrived on a democratic congress, because he knew how to compromise.
