    Moonlighting as a photographer

Since this was a strictly Muay Thai event, there wasn't a lot I could do for the mag. I was there at the request of Jenna Castillo, who does a lot of promoting of our magazine. As she's a former sanshou champ, we'll run a pic in the mag. But here's some other stuff that I shot, mostly for fun.

There were 18 bouts: 2 were MMA, 4 were women, 4 were title bouts and 3 were pro. The house was standing room only. Most of the bouts went the distance. The two MMA bouts were 1st round submissions. Four TKO's and one KO. It was a good night of fights.

As for former sanshou fighters, Rudi Ott fielded two fighters who both lost by unanimous decision. Cung Le had two fighters as well. They both won by unanimous decision. Both of those fights were after the main events, so most of the crowd had left.

Jenna stopped her opponent, Melanie Kohler Edwards, in round three. She battered her with punches to the face, successfully defending her Muay Thai belt.

Stupid ropes. A 5-rope ring is always hard to shoot through.

The ref is just about to stop the fight.

I also recommend the nachos at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Only $6 and chock full of sour cream, guac and cheese sauce.

We just posted a vid of Jenna

It's not her fighting. It's just her endorsing Tiger Claw's Clap Kicker.

    Jenna Castillo: ClapKicker

I got to hold the target for her.

    It's Just So Wrong!

When the women are fighting, there should be cute ring men in speedos!

There were more men fighting then women

    Nice thought however, TaichiMantis.

    We've had this conversation before.
