    injury

While practising last night did a crane form ( pai hei chaun chu) that had me jump to my left leg in order to do a right ,left kick with my right leg. Landed on my left leg and heard a pop at the base of my calf, hurt quite a bit, can walk on it but its sore. Any ideas cant see doing class tonight as Im walking like frankenstien.

Same thing happened to me long long time ago when attempting to do a side kick after an evasive jump. Except it was the knee of my base leg that popped. Wound up being that I over extended a tendon in my knee. No damage, but it was sore and weak for a while. Could be you over streched the a tendon or a ligament at the base of your calf. Check with your instructor and if it doesn't get better fast, see a doctor. When in doubt, check with a professional. It's better to be safe and have it be nothing than not worrying about it and have it be serious.

good luck and a fast recovery!
